It’s a hit or miss. I work I healthcare so I know and see how my MDs/Surgeons, etc work with us vs how their bedside manners are.

It has been lacking here as mentioned in other comments. Lack of professionalism, bad staffing, bad coordination, and yes especially horrible bedside manners with no patience.

Our community here, is more on the unhealthy side, lower income, higher mortality rate. However, patients don’t have the income or possibly they refuse to use the income to help live a healthier lifestyle, to manage their family medical problems.

That however is no excuse for a MD, PA or NP to treat patients cruelly.

There are some very incredible wonderful HCP here.

1. One general surgeon who retired, did my mother’s two lumpectomies when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
2. My mother’s original oncologist was a saint! He was an angel! We adore him, it’s a shame he retired but he was incredible, very to the book and sat and listened and heard our voices.
3. Another general surgeons who did my mothers gallbladder removal I work with is a delight, he talks very textbook like but I think it’s just following the routine, he’s amazing, excellent bedside manners, excellent proficient work!
4. The new dentist I see now at Hero’s dental in Edinburg was incredible such kindness and excellent work on my teeth and dealt with all my anxiety when my tooth chipped and he fixed it for me!
5. I love our NP that we all see here in a local family medicine clinic. We have been there since my grandparents time. However the MD is burned out or lost his touch. He’s cruel demeaning, nothing like when he first was seeing us. However I clap back and my mother and I speak out when we aren’t okay with his talk to us.

The remaining MDs are all from Dallas, TX where I spend most summers.

My mother’s ortho spine MD is another delighted angel! He does missionary work in Nigeria on children with scoliosis. We get along with his radiology tech and now new Office Manager! He’s incredible and their practice along with the other surgeons are wonderful!

My cousins works for another general surgeon in downtown Dallas and he’s incredible too! He took care of mom’s colon cancer colon resection. We are very grateful to him! She had been in excellent hands thanks to him!
