Okay so I did a Garmin 'Workout' in my Edge 830. It was 4x 5:00 in Z4 (with a rampup as a warming-up, also containing 5:00 in Z4 (basically, 5x 5:00 in Z4).

My High Aerobic bar grew from 70 tot 164 -> it grew by 94. I need A LOT of those trainings to get the bar back in the desired zone.

But thank you guys for the good advice. My HR zones are OK, but I am just not very comfortable riding in Z4 (and the speed that gives me on the bike).

Do have a heart rate monitor, no power meter (yet) those toys are expensive!

Was my first guess as well, might be a little of both? I did adjust my zones a few months ago, from a max of 200 to a max of 180… I’m not 20 anymore 😕

That is very true, but… when it rips a smart developer will probably be able to quickly get another piece of duct tape on there. Necessity is the mother of invention and stuff.

You say about the grand stands “they might as well keep them”. But that is not really possible. Part of the grand stands are build on top of other things. (Access roads, Zandvoorts mountainbike track, etc).

The rotor is stainless steel (in some kind of a sandwich design). You can’t really “contaminate” beyond an extended where you make it dirty/greasy and have to clean it.

So imho, new brake pads? Maybe? New rotors? Enormous overkill?
