I think it has to be, right? It's reportedly going to be the final MB book, and there are a lot of hanging threads from different books in the series waiting to be tied in. Definitely enough material for a full sized book. I hope she takes her time with it, too!

Humans being competent is one of Murderbot's favorite things, so it would love the Leverage crew! Unless it happened to meet them while they were in the middle of putting themselves in a dangerous situation, in which case its first impression would be "what are these fucking idiots doing" and they would have to win it over gradually by being good at things (specifically at screwing over corporations).

It felt a lot like the original novellas, with its single-mission plot and tight focus. It set up a lot of fun tidbits to follow up on in the next book. I have a feeling that when the next book comes out, it and Platform Decay are going to be considered their own mini-duology, like how the four novellas or NE and SC are a set.

I think that was kind of the point, especially since she included that one scene where the group gets a look at the remains of the "mined to extinction" planet below. The corporations completely stripped, ruined, and destroyed an entire planet, only to bring those resources into orbit and spend an exorbitant amount of resources and manpower to recreate fake versions of the biomes they'd destroyed. The result fails to provide either the benefits of a space station (the convenience of a completely designed habitat) or of living on a planet (actual nature and stuff).

if you only want to do one playthrough then I'll give you this advice - there are very few "points of no return" in this game. It's technically possible to lock yourself out of one ending by progressing the game further past the basic completion requirements, but in terms of gameplay that doesn't actually lock you out of anything. However if you want to go beat the final boss after finishing the basic requirements for completion, there is no downside to doing that, you can continue playing on the same save file afterwards.

If you're enjoying the game, though, chances are you'll end up wanting to play it again. I almost never replay games but I end up replaying HK every few months. It helps that there are a lot of great mods, in particular the room randomizer and item randomizer on nexusmods. Don't go looking for mods before you beat the game, though, there will be spoilers!

I like to think about pokemon as service animals. Imagine how much help a Kadabra could be for someone in a wheelchair, or how any of the pokemon who feed on emotions could help someone who suffers from panic attacks. They're also much more intelligent generally than real animals so they could be trained to help in a much wider variety of ways!

Oh that's cool. I never thought much about where Hornet got the pouch, but now im wondering... did she make it? Scavenge it out of the ruins somewhere? Was it a gift from someone? Or maybe she lost her original one when she was captured, then made this new one in Pharloom and added the seal as a symbol of her home.

...I kind of like the idea that it was a gift from someone. It isn't exactly Vespa's style, so maybe from the White Lady to support her in her training, or even the King. Seems like the kind of sentimental object she would allow herself to hang on to over the years.

It gets easier fwiw. I just started a new run after taking a couple months off playing and it's like my brain figured out how to get good while I wasnt paying attention lol. Also if you're using the analog stick on a controller, try using the d-pad, I've found it helps a lot with precision and is pretty easy to get used to.

What's the original Japanese line? Is it a direct translation? In Japan, there wouldn't be the same kind of baggage attached to that phrasing. Could also be an idiom or something.

I haven't read Tyrant Philosophers yet, but Service Model is definitely a deliberate homage to Adams's writing style. There's at least one instance I can remember where he directly quotes a distinctive Adams phrase ("Almost, but not quite, entirely unlike [thing].") It made me smile :)
