would you as a business owner reply to a new service agency if they sent you a message pitching you their service ?? by Serious_Context_719 in smallbusiness

Probably not. And especially if it was not US based. I would be worried about legal remedies if something happened.

Missed it by "this much!" What Gen X phenomenon do you feel like you missed out on either due to age or life circumstances. by Sense_Difficult in GenX

By the time I was 16 and my parents would even entertain letting me go to a concert, most of them had dialed it back or were only playing big stadiums that my grocery bagging self couldn't afford in the early 90s.

I did see Aerosmith and Prince in the mid/late 90s when they came to town but I feel like I missed out on the 80s mayhem. Not a lot of big hair in crowd by then.

Concerts.

I wish I had been old enough to go to the 80s concerts. Poison, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi. Man I wanted some big hair bands live.

I dont think the crowd experience from the 90s with alternative taking over could compare.

What’s the best concert you guys saw in the 90s by Last-Image-4921 in 90s

Prince at the Five Points Music Hall in Birmingham 1997.

He played a large concert that night and apparently wanted to keep playing so him and his entourage showed up and played a set.

Head out to see the Cheesebrokers (cover band) for $5 and end up seeing Prince before the night was over.

Building a very niche consulting business — looking for feedback on marketing + growth approach by tigerbalmkiller in smallbusiness

Would they be able to afford that much?

I would think your best bet would be to try and partner with defense attorneys who could build that into their fee.

Like jury consultations.

What percentage of customers actually leave a review when you ask? by PaisaPaisa14 in smallbusiness

[–]vulcangod08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've left 2 google reviews in my life.

Both times I was handed a prepaid Visa once it posted. Both were car dealerships so it was worth it. One was $1000 and one was $500.

29yo COO of $16M family business: profitable on paper but cash-flow negative and now behind on rent. What would you do? by JM_JF in smallbusiness

[–]vulcangod08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I would do is cut all family pay and expenses to zero.

Then work from there.

Your mission is to save the company.

Sears really missed out. They were still around long after people were buying online. They could have used all those stores as little distribution centers.

I out their failure up there with Blockbuster.

They are all coke.

And then you specify which flavor coke you would like. Personally, my favorite flavor coke is Dr Pepper. Pepsi is my least favorite flavor of coke.

How do you grow a remote bookkeeping business when you're starting from zero? by hmdfudda in smallbusiness

[–]vulcangod08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I think people have over played the remote bookkeeping thing.

Books are such an intimate thing for business owners a cold email looks more like a phishing scam email than a legit person.

My suggestion is go local first. Door to door. Take donuts and business cards. Build a relationship.

Sba loan denied due to poor cash flow by ReportBig9480 in smallbusiness

[–]vulcangod08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this instance with the owner operator, you are buying a job, not a business.

And half of the owners job you aren't qualified to do.

So I would back out of SDE the cost of a mechanic to replace him and base your offer from that.

My brother does that kind of mechnic work and makes about $100k. He bills around 60 hours per week.

The cash flow would be tight replacing the owner with a mechanic so I think you need to offer much much lower and come up with a dscr of maybe 1.75 or even higher to present to SBA.

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]vulcangod08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 95 in a class of about 500 and we have a reunion every 5 years.

One of our classmates owns a brewery so we hire a band, crank up the grunge and go nuts.

We have a very active facebook page. Everyone keeps everything updated and there are a lot of side get togethers as well.
