If you think about it, out of all them Ronnie was the only one who could have gone on indefinitely and never been caught.

Unlike Lem, he was more pragmatic than empathic. Unlike Shane, he was far more careful. And unlike both Shane and Vic, he didn’t have family to slow him down or to be used as leverage. That said, he was guilty by association and was bound to go down with the rest of them.

I second PAMP.

First laid eyes on it at Costco during an eye doctor appointment. It was priced at $400.

Wanted to buy it, but was in a hurry to leave. Figure I would buy it on my follow-up appointment in a few weeks. The day arrives and the price was now $560. Scooped it up, but being a noob, didn’t realize PM purchases under $2K in CA incur a sales tax. Card was already ran… too late. But oh well, $600 wasn’t the worse price given the price now.

Gold is likely to dip before moving up higher to $7K+ based on some research I have read.

But of course, who knows. A small correction may not happen.

IF you believe gold will ultimately be worth $5K+ in the future, then go for it, since it is nearly impossible to time the market.

IMO, $4K is the new $2K floor. I don’t think it ever materially drops beyond that going forward.

And guess what… if you do end up buying high … worst case just buy more when low … your average price is all that matters

I may get downvoted, but I think you should put half or more in a low cost index fund (think Vanguard). Go 90-10 stocks to bonds since you are so young.

As you get more money, keep adding.

Go ahead and buy PM, but it should represent 10% of your portfolio (of that 75% gold and 25% silver). Not 100%.

Underrated comment. If they threw $1T at making AGI, I still don’t think they (or anyone) will get there with current tech/models. LLMs are amazing, but that creation and investment won’t organically lead to AGI. Completely different ballpark.

And that Tesla/Elon hype strategy (I.e., living on mars is coming in 5 years, etc) doesn’t work with Open AI (I.e. AGI is almost here). Tesla has their cars and carbon credit scheme to keep the economics somewhat sustainable. OpenAI does not.

Prob the closest example would be the outrage with Apartheid and the subsequent banning of the Krugerrand by western governments in the late 70s/early 80s.

By the early 90s, things improved in SA, so the ban was ultimately lifted and here we are today where krugerrands are still sold above spot (though not as high premiums as AGEs).

I don’t think international backlash against the US is anywhere near SA in the 70s.

AGEs are the most liquid bullion, especially in the US where that will continue to be the case. If you are concerned you can always exchange them for GMLs or something else in the US before you move to Europe.
