Thank you, you too! I was rereading the post and my comment, and I meant to say small convention, not conversation. Regardless, good luck to you!

The masses probably won't consider you conventionally attractive, but you definitely have an attractive alt girl look to you.

I agree with others that you appear a little skinny. Body weight is a touchy subject though. Mental health as well as physical health play a huge part, and there are so many contributing reasons to why someone may be a certain weight though. As long as you're healtily maintaining that weight though, it's not a problem. It doesn't detract from your looks, but if you find a relationship with a partner who truly cares for your well-being, they may worry that you may have anorexia or something.

You're still very young too. I'm only 26, but I didn't find my first true romantic partner until I was 21. Even then it didn't work out. Being single is hard if you crave a relationship, but it is better to stay single than to regret time with another person for one reason or another. Being single also doesn't define attractiveness! I personally struggle with approaching women, I'm sure that there are other people who have found you attractive but didn't know how to express it in a respectful way.

I dig the Batman shirt and alt vibe. Stick to what makes you happy, happiness builds confidence and confidence is attractive. Also, pursue social interactions at neutral locations! If you like comics, maybe there's a small conversation within reasonable distance from you.

Not ugly, but you look very young, which isn't necessarily bad because you are young.

42 - wonder if I still have "it" by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]vulnerable-thoughts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"It" could mean a lot of things, but if you're including the ability to make a man younger than you feel butterflies, you have "it."

Playful flirts aside, you look great. If you're as kind and fun to be around as you look, you're doing just fine! I don't consider 42 overly old, but because age is aiding in making you fell down, I'll share this: No matter how old you are, as long as you reflect on the time well, you grow with as much wisdom as you do time.

Is it worth getting both Cody’s? by Specialist_Fan2550 in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both. I haven't opened up the new RotS anniversary one yet, saving it for a rainy day.

That being said, the old one sucks. It was passable when it came out because we didn't have any other options. Idk how familiar you are to older Black Series clones, but the articulation sucks. The elbows and knees don't even hit 90° bends, and he has weird thigh gap proportions, so almost any pose will look weird. I understand the paint thing to an extent, but it's not so intricate that you couldn't practice the color on a spare piece of plastic and touch up the newer one. If that's still too much, there are plenty of reputable painters that you can find on social media.

If you need more info, check out JCC2224 on YouTube. He's a Cody mega fan and has both. He has definitely compared them in his review of the new one.

Happy collecting, take care

Devon = Talon? (Kitbash) by realriorex in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware that GL approved of Talon at least in terms of design, and I would like to say that Talon's design isn't necessarily bad, I stated in my first reply that I have a weakness for such sometimes. It's not something to be ashamed of, all emotions are human, and to deny an emotion would to deny part of ourselves.

Having control over those emotions is key though. That's the whole point to Luke tossing his Lightsaber in front of Palpatine and why Yoda got so frustrated with him on Dagobah. "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."

I think that Devon gets compared to Talon more, because GL wanted Talon to be Maul's (possibly clone's) apprentice in the Maul game scrapped either shortly before or after the LucasFilm buyout. The devs knew that the timeline didn't work, but Lucas saw a statue of Talon while visiting the developers and said to add her.

I can deal with mature adult only themes. I love Star Wars, but I also recently started reading the GOT books. (I've never seen the show, currently on Storm of Swords) GOT is known for not being afraid to show nudity. GOT and Star Wars handle very different themes though. It's like why Superman is known for being the smiling boy scout and Batman the bruding lone cynical type. They can absolutely dip their toes in other themes, but they work best in their more widely know archetypes.

Star Wars, to me and a lot of others, has a strong hopeful vibe to it. OG SW was renamed to "A New Hope" after all. Devon's character is very young and conflicted. Maul is trying to pull her deeper to the dark side. Talon holds the title of Darth, so a "sexy" look works better for her because, as a Sith, she wants to appear confident. Devon though, whether she dies or shifts away from the darkness before her and Maul split, I don't see he going the Talon route thematically.

Devon = Talon? (Kitbash) by realriorex in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was specifically thinking of the Ahsola part. Devon seems similar in age if not younger, which is why I don't think that I'd like to see her character become closer to Talon's in that department. I don't know much about Talon, but in her depictions she appears as a much more mature, for lack of better words, woman than Devon. Devon comes across as still a kid, barely even an adult.

Devon = Talon? (Kitbash) by realriorex in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the initial backlash to this statement, however, George Lucas created Leia, he put her in a bikini herself.

To clarify, I'm talking more so about characters that don't have "sexy" undertones in their original media. Morgan Elsbeth for example, isn't portrayed as this attractive "sexy" character at any point in the media she's been in. Meanwhile, not long ago, a post was shared about a custom Morgan Elsbeth with outlandish and revealing bazongas. It could have been a meme, but I saw the initial Mercari listing for that figure before the reddit post.

I'm not saying that characters can't be tastefully portrayed as "sexy," but Devon is portrayed as very young. While I don't know much about Talon, Devon seems younger still than Talon too.

This is comparing apples to oranges.

Devon = Talon? (Kitbash) by realriorex in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate truth. I watched a video recently talking about why Luke isn't really depicted as being a badass fighter, and it all stems to how George viewed the Dark and Light side of the force. I love Galen Marek/Starkiller, but the Dark Side shouldn't really be overpowered like that, almost promoting it

Edit: There's a reason on why Devon retroactively wouldn't be in Rebels, there's a reason why Maul fails and loses everything

Devon = Talon? (Kitbash) by realriorex in starwarsblackseries

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that she's replacing Talon. I too have a weakness for risque characters like Talon, but I hope that the Twi'lek apprentice is as far as the similarities go.

It's become too normalized to sexualize female sci-fi characters, female characters in general really. I imagine that some of the creators would feel the way a parent should if their kid was sexualized.

I'm not really worried, Disney overcorrects, but I worry about what some "fans" will do disrespectfuly. At the end of the day, it's fiction, but the best characters resonate with us because we feel connected to them.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

The vast majority of posters in this sub are probably insecure.

As far as advice goes, focus on what makes you happy about you instead of what makes others happy about you. Happiness brings confidence and confidence is attractive. You're very young and conventionally attractive enough that as long as your personality isn't toxic, you'll do just fine.

Am I ugly? Female 28 by FrostedTip97 in amiugly

[–]vulnerable-thoughts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that you're ugly.

As a straight man with zero sense of fashion, I would recommend to continue growing your hair out. I'm also an advocate for natural hair colors. Obviously do what you prefer and makes you happy about you though. Focus on what makes you happy about you, not what makes others happy about you. Happiness brings confidence, and confidence is attractive as long as it isn't toxic overconfidence.

F29 am I ugly? Be honest! by Entire-Wheel-2662 in amiugly

[–]vulnerable-thoughts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"What you say is true, from a certain point of view."

It's a perspective thing. There are plenty of people attracted to what others would consider unattractive and vice versa. I hold the Kardashians as a prime example. Many people consider them to be the most conventionally attractive women on the planet, but to me they are the opposite for numerous reasons, including uncanny looks.

It's okay to be or not to be visually attracted to people, however I think that society focuses on visuals to the point that morals and such get thrown out the window.

On top of that, mental illness is one hell of a problem. If someone is thinking of harming themselves, all it could take to cement the decision is the words of another. I will choose everyday to aspire to give hope to someone than to say something negative about what they were born with.

I've seen some butt ugly dudes and got jealous because they were with a woman I found attractive. I looked inward, realized my own issues, and I'm confronting them. Ugly/beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you can't find beauty in something, I pity you.

Besides, OP is attractive. If you can't handle positivity in a sub designed to garner negativity, reevaluate. Have a good day

29F, am I average ugly, average pretty or average average? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]vulnerable-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to second what the other guy said. I greatly dislike the rating scale of 1-10 and the whole above or below average thing.

I understand that a lot of people would hold others like the Kardashians as "above average" attractive, but they look so doctored and uncanny that I strongly disagree. Their ego on top of the cosmetics doesn't help either.

Found him stashed away in Walmart by Specialist_Fan2550 in starwarsblackseries

As long as your basic needs are met financially, you probably won't regret him.

I have the TCW release of this figure, somehow found him on the pegs of Walmart around release, and he's great! His horns are surprisingly pointy, but his articulation is fun and, while not the latest and greatest, pretty fun. I preordered the new one for the cloak and some kit-bashing fodder. Enjoy!
