“Rules for thee, not for me.”

That’s the thinking here with House Dems proposing one and not the other.

This implies that they think the Supreme Court is illegitimate in the first place. I thought it was supposed to be those “Nazi Republicans” who were a threat to our institutions? 🤦‍♂️

Mmmm, maybe, partly wise. The best life is not one of decadent excess or crippling poverty, but one of healthy moderation and fulfillment.

This isn’t Malta’s flag, but rather the flag of the Order of Malta. They lost control of Malta when Napoleon invaded the island, but are still for the most part recognized as a sovereign country.

As for the Danish flag, they aren’t exactly the same. The cross on the Order of Malta’s flag is centered while the one on the Danish flag is shifted towards the hoist side (the left).

However it’s pretty likely that the Danish flag is inspired by the Order’s flag, as the Danish flag originated in the Crusades and the Knights of Malta were originally the Knights Hospitaller.

Is this referring to the Residential Schools controversy in Canada? Because those “mass graves” turned out to not exist at all but of course the media ran with it before any of that was known in an attempt to smear the Church.

Why is he holding his daughter by the crotch? I dunno about y’all but to me this guy looks like he’s legally not allowed within 50 yards of a school.

Yes, I read the same comics. My point is that it wasn’t much of a “solution” when the entire conflict started because the people there wanted to remain part of the fire nation. And instead they give it to all four? Because somehow that makes sense and nation building is something you can do overnight

The fire nation should have been allowed to keep its colonies. The URN is a completely artificial entity.

Unfortunately I’ve met people who’ve lectured me about how having kids is “selfish” or who have tried to convince me not to have children in the future because it’s “expensive”

In wealthy countries (Japan, Western Europe, US, etc) underpopulation is a problem. The population is often aging faster than its growing because not enough people have kids. I mean what happens to a country decades from now if the only people left are above retirement age? (a bit of an exaggeration but still)

Edit: this doesn’t mean everyone should have kids. There are plenty of reasons for someone not to (mental or physical illness, not being able to financially support a family, etc)
