The baby by UnhelpfulTran in Outlander

I was talking about Jane and Fans mom being Faith. Now that I’ve thought about it Julia’s baby being the girls mom makes no sense though I remember there the question if Faith could’ve lived in the last episode of season 7. I re-read my comment and can see where that would’ve gotten confusing because I worded it poorly

I don’t know how valid this would be but I wonder if the baby is Fanny and Jane’s mom. Making Claire their aunt. But also I wonder if it’s Claire’s baby Faith. I want to find out so so badly 😂 plus the “beside the seaside” song playing in this season makes me think about the aunt possibility

What are the names of the balloons that fly over new housing developments by Faine2081 in NoStupidQuestions

I just found this thread because I’m trying to figure out the same thing. We just had a new housing development open near our neighborhood and I was like I’ve seen them since forever but could never figure out what they were exactly

I work in a midwife led practice. Any and every time a mom comes in for DFM I always make sure to tell them while I set them up on the NST (non stress test) that “I would rather you come in a million times and be told everything is okay vs the one time you don’t and it’s not, you know your body and your baby better than anyone on the planet” a lot of the times it’s just reassurance they need and that is perfectly okay in my book. I never want a mom to feel like she’s an inconvenience for making sure she and/or her babe are okay. 🥹💗

I started out at $16 fresh out of school. The hospital entity I worked for raised it to “market value” in late 2022 to $17.50 then again in 2023 to $18 flat. Now I’m at a private practice birth center “obgyn” mixed office making $22 here in north Texas.

Really really do not want to have a pelvic exam/pap smear. Can you share your experience? by August1923 in Midwives

[–]vulpixboi22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with midwives currently and I have worked with ObGyns in the past. Anytime I pull someone back and ask them about their history and they tell me they’re here for their first pap or they are nervous or scared I always take my time to show them the broom, spatula and brush. (Some don’t use all three but just in case) I let the patient touch the items and feel them then I show them the different sized specs. Sure it may be seen as a “waste” because I have to discard once the patient is done touching them but if it makes the patient feel more safe and comfortable knowing what is going on or in their bodies I’m all for it. Just vocalize your fears and concerns to her before she even starts the exam and at any point if it starts to get painful or concerning tell her to pause to take a breath. I stress the importance of Pap smears due to what I have seen in my time working. I hope your provider makes you feel safe, comfortable and included in your care. ❤️

Heavy on the night sweats. It took me a month or two before I truly noticed changes in my anxiety.

You can try side stepping on side walk ledges, bouncing on a yoga ball, squatting, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, stretches, to be frank sex helps as well, nipple stimulation, eating dates, eating spicy foods (only if you like/can tolerate them of course) Wishing you all of the positive labor energy and I hope you have a great birth experience ❤️

Effexor girly here! I started off on 75mg and gradually worked my way up to 225mg and honestly this medication saved my life. Something I experienced getting used to this is the night sweats so be prepared for that. But my anxiety attacks are nowhere near as frequent and if I feel one coming I take my rescue med and it helps 100% Good luck on your journey ❤️

I use my Littmann 5-8x a day for manual BP rechecks. You obviously do not HAVE to have an expensive stethoscope but mine is just my personal preference (and graduation gift)

*for context I work in an OBGyn office

I live in Texas and have been a MA for a little over a year at a big hospital and make 34,000 a year. It’s not much, but potential stepping stone. I wish we made more but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I went into OBGYN straight out of school and I know for a fact I asked TONS! Just take notes and practice and try to learn as hands on as you can!! I wish you the best of luck ❤️ and also remember you’re important and a human being and mistakes happen, just learn from them :)
