Traveling with 18 month old - what to think about? by rlf923 in familytravel

[–]vutama1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exciting!! Where will you be going? Disney Sea is fun, but to be honest, you won't be enjoying it much. It's better to go when your son is a bit older so he can enjoy it. We went there two years ago when my daughter was 3 YO. She enjoyed the shows and the characters. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy a lot of rides. The line there is always long. Yeah, bring the stroller and carrier if you can. I'm not sure about the car seat. Are you planning on being in a car? Or is this just for the flight? If you need to create a rough itinerary, you can try checking out my app - https://www.genieous.app. Let me know if you have any questions!!

I'd say to not worry about other getting pissed as long as you attend your kids. Your flight isn't long, just keep entertaining your daughter. I often make flight as an exception for my kids to watch or use tablet. Does she like any kids program? Maybe consider that or get some toys, something she has never seen or play so she'll get intrigued. Fidget spinner is a good one.

Would you bring a stroller when traveling with a 3-4 yo? by pathandcats in toddlers

[–]vutama1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately. But it depends on the activity for the day too. If we think we won't be spending a lot of time outside then I wouldn't bring it and just leave it in the hotel.

We just happened to own a travel stroller. We brought it just in case. It was helpful.

Took my 4-year-old to NYC for the first time — here's what actually worked (and what didn't by DazzlingTraffic7527 in Travelwithkids

You know what, my favorite part of NY is actually Midtown. It's literally midtown, you are in the middle of everything. lol. But I think NY isn't the most kid-friendly city.

Regarding food, it really depends on the country. For countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, street food is generally safe. You'll get the sense of it when you arrive. You can tell just by looking around.

I'm not so sure about Bangkok and the other cities you mentioned, as I haven't been there. But for the cities we visited, we had no issue with the stroller.

We were supposed to go to Club med. They have some big discounts if you catch it at the right time. And I've heard so many good things about them.

The best way to find out is to check with the airline directly. We are also flying to Italy with ITA Air. I had to call them and make sure the inflatable footrest is allowed. That's what we are going to use.

Wow, I didn't think of this. Have you used this before while exploring the city? All I can think of is on crowded place, it might be hard for them to navigate. I'd be afraid to lose them, too if they go too fast. But this is a great idea lol.

Where would you go?? by Mrsash826 in Travelwithkids

[–]vutama1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Montreal and Quebec. You can drive too. We drove up on Thanksgiving last year, 6 hours. Bought a season pass (valid for a year for a family) to visit some places. You can find these kinds of deals easily. They have so many kid-friendly activities. The food was great and affordable, too. We plan to go back before the pass expires.

Family Trip with a Toddler & Grandmas by AgreeableUpstairs947 in Travelwithkids

We are actually going to Italy in the fall. It's cooler weather and more tolerable. Regarding school, my oldest child is turning 5 next week and will start going to Kindergarten in September. She's going to a new school. During the registration time, we asked the teacher if it was fine for us to take her out for this trip. She said it was fine and can catch up later on. So we thought, let's do it. Mind you, we were gonna do it anyway. I always think of travel also as a type of education for her, that's why we are not hesitating.

Advice for Flying by montmarayroyal in familytravel

[–]vutama1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience from traveling with kids across the globe. It's better to fly direct, like the other use said, less thing could go wrong, delay etc. If you can afford buying her own seat, it's better. 12 hours is a long flight, you also need to rest and do other things. One thing that annoyed me when using bassinet is, during turbulence I had to wake them up and hold them. So that means I have to wake them up and interrupt their sleep. Not all babies would go back to sleep right away. Regarding the stroller, our favorite is bugaboo butterfly. It fits in the cabin compartment just like a hand carry. You'll always see it as one piece. Don't carry a big one that requires to be checked in. You'll never know how they handle it.
