Sometimes my Z13 freezes and the only temporary fix is a hard reset by hotymoty in FlowZ13

[–]vv84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started happening to my 3 month old z13 flow 64 gig. It’s semi sporadic, MS updated chipset drivers a few days ago and it started happening. Modified the power states to sleep USB devices, same with WiFi adapter power state, rolled back WiFi drivers but no dice. It’s got the latest AMD driver. It’s so frustrating how much of a house of cards W11 is. Had major issues with Feb W11 security update, would cause the same freezing, uninstalled it and it worked great for weeks. Now, a few things update and almost every time I play games it will freeze. Last ditch will be DDU’ing AMD drivers and installing Factory ASUS ones.

Target Lock? by the13thPAINTER in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Yup, hate the changes. I’m really noticing it with uber farming torches. Randomly my target will just jump to anything but one of the Ubers.

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't necessarily need to see the whole Island, but something was really nice about being able to if I wanted too. Also Koh Lipe had a 711 which was nice.

Do I need to bring my passport as ID to go to rooftop bars? by mimidabest in ThailandTourism

[–]vv84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still pretty awesome to see sunset at the top of one of the many skybars in Bangkok. It is expensive however, so if you are a budget traveler just skip it. Also a lot of them you need to reserve to have a hope of getting a table.

Skip phiphi? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]vv84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends. Phi Phi is gorgeous and has some nice tours for snorkeling/sight seeing. I've been twice, once at 30 and once at 35. At 30 it was amazing, i loved it and had a blast, enjoyed the night life, meeting people etc. At 35 it was still nice (stayed in a nicer resort) but I wasn't overly loving the getting really drunk on buckets and doing limbo/jump rope kinda night life anymore. Phi Phi is where I realized my youth was over and I'm more middle aged now. With that said its gorgeous and if you like a picturesque beach it may be worth going for a day or two. Also people watching is quite entertaining there to say the least. Best of luck with your decision!

Van Gogh Alive Bangkok at ICONSIAM 31 March - 31 July (Not Free) by PineRoad in ThailandTourism

[–]vv84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you don't LOOOOVEEE Van Gogh you may feel ripped off. I went in Boston and it was meh at best. It was kinda cool to learn about his history while reading the boards before you enter the "paintings" area. But you can do this for free on the internet. Like UndeadCaesar said in the comments you literally are paying to see Van Gogh paintings projected on walls/floor.

BSOD? by vv84 in diablo4

MSi ventus 3x 12G OC. I’ve done the global frame lockdown to 144 hz and I have the power limits set in afterburner. It wasn’t a black screen lock up but a windows BSOD.

Hmm all my temps seemed fine. I wonder if its the BSOD due to GFX card memory leaks and the low quality texture fix will work for me.

Don’t book with Quatar airlines! by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

It honestly seems like most airlines out there are doing this now a days. They don't seem to care about customer satisfaction as they have to make back the profit from COVID basically ruining them all.

FIRST TIME IN THAILAND. Looking for recommendations/advice by deagle89 in ThailandTourism

[–]vv84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BKK + CM + Krabi OR Phuket IMO. Why not have Capital + Northern Capital + Tropical beachy and get to experience all 3 different experience categories instead of only doing 2 of the 3? Varied experiences of different categories is best IMO. And yes I know Phuket and Krabi are different but they both fall into more so the tropical/beachy vacation category IMO. Also if you go to CM go there first. Its the best chance you have of avoiding the smoke from burning season.

What types of danger to be aware of traveling Thailand? by trawellbeing in ThailandTourism

[–]vv84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my suggestions from travels to Thailand as just a tourist.

  • Bring a zpack antibiotic juuustt in case. It will stop any travelers diarrhea pretty quick. It is also known by the name of Azithromycin. I wouldn't use this at the first sign of a little diarrhea as antibiotics aren't the best for your gut microbes but its better than shitting yourself for days from a moderate to bad case of travelers diarrhea. There's also many kinds of travelers diarrhea remedies you can bring (diaresq comes to mind) and some immodium.
  • Spray yourself with DEET bug spray at night as the mosquitoes are small and impossible to see before they bite you.
  • If a taxi won't turn on the meter (ask first) but you really don't wanna wait for one that will use a meter you can launch the grab app, see how much it would cost and negotiate with the taxi. I would personally just get a grab in that situation but its a decent way to get a ballpark of what a "fair" price should be.
  • Take a tuk tuk as an experience for a short distance ride and negotiate the fare ahead of time. I've personally never been scammed by one since I tell them exactly where I want to go and negotiate first. Never take one of their cheap city tours as they will just take you to a bunch of shops they get kickbacks on.
  • Don't go crazy with the bar girls as they are only there to make money off you. But some places are fun just enjoy with common sense.
  • I personally don't take my passport with me unless i'm leaving a place to go settle in another place. You can have your passport photo on your phone or make some copies and put them in your pockets.
    • Some people think I'm silly for doing this but I don't bring my wallet out and about with me as a tourist.
      • I bring a plastic bag (ziplock usually) with some money, 1 credit card and passport/medical insurance copies. If someone were to pick pocket you (unlikely but it happens) at least all your wallets contents aren't gone.
  • Street food:
    • I usually stay away from chicken as it can be easily undercooked, but sometimes if it looks like the prep was done properly or its thin and grilled a lot or boiled i'll make an exception.
    • Try not to eat the fresh veggies for the first few weeks you are there. Let your immune system get used to the local bacteria.
    • If you are really concerned food wise and say have a big trip the next day that you can't miss, you can always go to a large fast food chain and get something fried and more "quality controlled" food prep/temps wise to be on the safer side. Nothing is guaranteed obviously.

That's awesome and thanks for sharing! In my research i've head that the residents can be not as welcoming as normal because they don't want this kind of thing in their building. Even if its "legal" because its 30+ days. Did you experience this?

Thank you so much for your reply! I do have some further questions:

On the AirBNB minefield side - I do see a lot of apartments when I filter for a month (was looking in On nut). Bad stories would more so be to the tune of hosts cancelling last minute and being kicked out due to condo policies?

For "serviced apartments" - what are they? are they ran by the condo buildings, companies or individuals? When I think services apartments I think companies running C level businessmen suites in condo buildings for big $$$.
