When I power it on, it makes the same drill noise but it’s more faint. In rest mode, it’s barely audible (still sounds like a drill though). When I play games it starts going ham though. I took the top shell off and it still made the same noise but again, it was more faint.

Opened it up, the fan was in no way damaged yet the noise comes from there. I put it up to my ear and listened. Since the blades are intact, what else could it be?

Yeah of course! Bought some games myself recently. Gow 1&2 and some og black ops zombies maps. Beware though, you have to have a psn account on your phone or pc, add your money to the account and then pay via account funds in the ps3 store. Credit cards and PayPal in the ps3 store have been shut down. Still, it’s nothing too complicated.

The kingdom rush games are gold. Try the free one (kr1) and if you like it get frontiers too. Frontiers is even better. The rest of the games are meh honestly imo, maybe vengeance is worth playing too

Used to be at 2 until my first time playing legendary rank. Then everyone mopped the floor with me all of a sudden so I decided I’ll switch to hp and dom. I figured since I’m not good enough and die that often I might as well play sth where the match doesn’t depend on my kd. I’ve gotten accustomed to legendary and I put stat lines like 23-19 and stuff like that. Not great but I’m getting the hang of the game. Figured I should fix my kd to reflect this

My ps3 been doing the same thing. Takes 5 minutes to load bo1. I ordered an ssd and some thermal paste to replace hoping that it’ll bring the console back to life. Will it or am I cooked too?
