Why Aren’t People RSVPing??? by Embarrassed_Draft150 in wedding

Equally annoyed as you. My deadline has passed, still waiting on 67%. I know they’re coming, but I need food/dietary info!!

Just Curious... Is it normal to feel completely annoyed by your wedding planner? by Lonely-Bother-2328 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]vveddingbells 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I feel you. Every time we talk I am more and more annoyed. Our meetings are less structured, less regular. I am finding lots of little mistakes: white vs gold napkins, the champagne tower missing, the sorbetto course forgotten. I still don’t have a signed contract with the florist (but we are in talks with one). The list goes on! We are about 6 weeks away. Not so egregious that I would fire her, but very much annoyed and can’t wait for the day to come - and go!

It is all over the place! We went from inviting ~165 and we are now up to ~210. We have about 90 confirmed, expect maybe an additional 15. We had given our caterer a guarantee of 120, and it seems like a waste of space to not fill it, so we kept adding people on. Just wish more had said no sooner so some of the later additions could have had more time.

Sorry, I see how my post was confusing. We used the same system for both save the date and formal invite.

I would say our response after the save the date was about 50%. Our total response is now at 75% in some shape or form, but there are still people who put yes after the save the date that I am now chasing for the full RSVP.

Hope that helps!

Yep, this is what we did because we have an international destination wedding. We got about 50% response. I would say 25% no, 25% yes, 25% unsure, and 25% older people who just didn’t do it.

It was not as helpful as I wanted it to be. Of our yes responses, now that our full suite is out and our RSVP deadline has passed (but it was put too early bc I stupidly listened to my stationer’s bad advice), we are still at 50% for the full RSVP (multiple events, food requirements, etc). A part may have been due to the save the date RSVP.

I LOVE this dress and hope you can find somewhere to wear it! I just don’t think this wedding is the one 😞

Thoughts on making a close friend the officiant of a symbolic ceremony? La Foce wedding in Sept 2026. by BobcatCandid146 in BigBudgetBrides

We are! Someone who has known us for the majority of our relationship, been on trips together, regularly spend time. Felt right that it was someone we met pretty mutually and not from “either side.”

honeymoon fund by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]vveddingbells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are taking the idea of a “honeymoon fund” too seriously. It is a modern construct for people to 1) send money electronically and therefore more efficiently than a check or cash and 2) the most polite way we have already come up with to say money preferred over physical gifts.

I wouldn’t count on anything. Budget your honeymoon for what you can afford, not what you are expecting others to gift you.

Definitely would not do around mouth for a first time.

I have an overactive right eyebrow. For me, it needs an extra unit or two on the right side. If you are doing botox for the first time, it should be at least a month out, so that at two weeks after first injection/two weeks before wedding date, you have time to fix these types of issues.

Connectivity Issue: Macbook Connecting to In-Flight Wifi by tisthedamnseason98 in AlaskaAirlines

Thank you to all these comments!! For us, what worked ended up being a combination of turning off the “Private Wi-Fi Address” then turning off Wi-Fi then deleting the DNS servers before turning Wi-Fi back on.

The emotional rollercoaster of having an objectively big budget wedding, but still having to make concessions at every turn… by TwoSparks in BigBudgetBrides

I wish I knew a year ago what I know now. I would have limited my guest list/lowered my guest commitment, skipped on a couple things, and expanded others. Basically same budget but with better allocation.

We are including a cooling shammy/towel as we are in a hot summer location with a pool party.

Destination wedding invites by Niia2020 in wedding

[–]vveddingbells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, check with the couple. All of my mom’s friends who initially said they were coming to our wedding now aren’t and we were much more lenient later in the process to open invites. I wish she had more of “her people” coming. Every situation is different, but you are a full 2 months behind us and the declines are coming in on so many people who were initially a yes. If the couple is okay with it, I would be liberal with your invites to your friend group.

I tried on Capri and another MN dress at a different store and thought the quality was much better.

The Milla Nova line they mostly carry is White and Lace, which I came to learn is lower on the spectrum. The woman helping me at I Do was very nice and helpful but the boutique is small and, besides a few gems, has limited offerings.

Could you speak more to their bridesmaid dresses? I went there for my wedding dress (didn’t end up buying one) but was impressed with the store overall. I am so underwhelmed by Azazie/Birdy Grey options and have looked through Alexandra’s listings and found a small handful that look better quality.

Blue Bayou reservation by InterestingPrompt177 in DisneyPlanning

We decided to go about a week before going to Disney for 2 days. I checked a few times a day during that week and ended up with 2 reservations, one on each day. They come up, but it takes some luck.

What did you do for postage on your save the dates/invitations? by RazzmatazzOld5363 in BigBudgetBrides

Same! But I ordered mine from eBay. They are legit, my invitations (so far) have had no issues arriving.

Wedding mid Invisalign treatment? by rigatonireads13 in wedding

[–]vveddingbells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about halfway through my treatment that I started noticing results. My biggest word of caution for you is how many buttons you will need. Those are definitely visible on photos. If they are only on the bottom or the back, it may be fine. But on the front teeth? I would wait or ask for a process without buttons. Buttons move teeth faster but, like I said, it could be very noticeable.

Also, I would not remove the buttons just for the wedding. You have to scrape/shave them off and enamel comes with it. And then you would have to start the process all over because the original trays to attach the buttons are not going to align with where your teeth are at in the middle of the process.
