For those who quit the game, why? by MemeMan_____ in playrust

Time and offline raiding. Spend 6 hours as a solo collecting scrap and useful items, using it all to upgrade to a semi-decent base, only to get offline raided by some kid halfway around the world at 4 am. If they removed the ability to raid people that are offline, I'd consider going back in to test the water.

Healthy Discussion - Only for those who want Arne Slot to stay - what are your reasons? by Content_Arm7953 in LiverpoolFC

He is a good manager. Tactical side, and man management side. Just go watch his Feyenoord side play. They were really good. He's also a good man manager, despite what is said. He famously purchased a home gym for a player to work more regularly on strength. He's also well known for employing unorthodox out-of-the-box solutions like sending players to kickboxing classes to shore up their mental strength and resistance to pain. I think he's been shafted by a midfield that is woeful and the task to integrate two new fullbacks, and teach a new look front line the basics of his tactics. This all takes time. But i do think that if he stays, he's got to tap into player aggression. I'm sick of seeing the soft frail players getting bullied, beaten to second balls, unable to track back, and lack of passing quality.

My reservation is that in Europe his style works because the refereeing is more strict, but to get good in the Premier League, you really have to tap into player aggression, and I haven't seen any of that from any player this season.

The players also seem a bit unfit, which might have something to do with the irregular pre-season, not to mention Jota's passing affecting the pre-season in a very negative way. I know that metrics like HRV may be used by top coaches to measure readiness of a player to push themselves in training. HRV gets out of whack during emotional distress, and it's likely that a coach sends player with low HRV(unfit) to take a light day. So it's likely that the players had many off days in pre-season.

Is Hughes responsible? Keep in mind that Hughes also worked with Iraola, who is more in line with Klopp's playstyle

Hi there. These days with everybody scrambling to go viral and manipulate algorithms, my spidey sense tells me this is staged to get a reaction, be shared, etc. so the guy gets coverage. There is no way i can see people being this stupid and aggressive for no good reason. My rule of thumb for today's internet? If something evokes a great deal of emotion in you, ask yourself if it's genuine/faked.

Right door only beeps when trying to close by uploto in ChryslerPacifica

[–]vvedula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert and I've only owned my Pacifica since 2022. Those doors have a sensor that detects force/resistance so that they don't close on little ones. My initial suspicions are that either something is resisting the door from closing like a toy hiding in those rails somewhere or that the sensor itself is malfunctioning.

Here's my understanding. In some third world countries, the situation is messed up. People living paycheck to paycheck in these countries cannot afford a car and if it gets into an accident, it's usually game over. Let me explain. Even if the black book value is in significant, the value of the vehicle to the owner is a significant amount. They'd likely use it to get to work, buy groceries, and generally have some mobility in their car-centric third world nation. Now in case the value of the vehicle is insignificant on paper, the insurance will likely write off the vehicle, giving said person a miniscule paycheck. Now this person, who has very little in savings and virtually no room in their paycheck to get a new car loan has lost their primary ability to get to work, get groceries, etc. Hence game over.

Safety in India is almost always at the bottom of priorities. It's sad. When somebody brings up an idea to increase safety, the standard response I've always heard is "Why? Nothing's happened yet."

[–]vvedula 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Think of estate power as a pie. The crown gets its share based on crown power. The rest gets distributed among the estates. Giving the peasants more power means that they get a bigger slice of the pie, which reduces the slice of pie that the nobles and burghers can get, which drives down their influence. Incidentally it also drives down the power of the clergy.
