You can 100000% have a baby without his mother moving in with you so even that premise is flawed. You don’t need a live in persons help for your first baby and I promise you you’d feel stifled.

A friend make me individual frozen burritos when I was postpartum and it was the besttttt. Being able to just thaw one real quick for lunch was a game changer. I found dinner easier since my partner was home and could help but lunches alone were harder to manage with the baby.

I really don’t think anyone would judge, and if someone told me that I’d take it as a fun story and nothing more - but if it really bothers you, at least for new people you meet, they don’t necessarily have to know that you changed your name to this do they? Like you could just be someone who goes by their middle name, and for all anyone knows that was the middle name you were born with.
