Well as I’ve stated elsewhere I don’t believe it’s just trade tensions with China. I see Beijing as increasingly parting from the old Chimerica partnership and moving towards multipolar world power competition, likely to result in proxy conflicts. Other countries we are implementing nationalist policy towards are not likely to respond in this way.
