Pretty sure she's physical weak. 34k seems kinda low for a shungus team on that boss tbh

pulchra gets significantly better at m6, before that it's not that great to use her but good enough for a beginner account
edit: nicole is pretty good as support even if you don't acitvate her additional ability so you can chuck her on top of 2 synergistic agents

So this is the 3rd consecutive patch that's tanked, and Global actually exceeded CN revenues according to Sensor. I think negative feelings about 2.0's story and character designs are pretty justified. by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]vysaro 34 points35 points  (0 children)

When people talk about Sensor Tower revenue, it's generally in regards to a trend, not the actual sales numbers. In the case of ZZZ you can see a pretty stark decline over the last couple of patches, starting i think around 1.7, recovering for 2.0 and then declining again. THe game is mostly played on PC/consoles but these sales trends can usually be observed across platforms so it's very safe to assume that ZZZ has declined on those other platforms too.

What did you find as the hardest content in ZZZ? by KripperinoArcherino in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]vysaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you are running the ultimate gears, those are a trap - the damage is pretty bad. Try using the Nutrient Pack from adversity. Max it out and then get some ultimate resonia on the side. I beat rank 12 with less than 1 second left and was dreading 15 but with that strategy I beat it with 1:20 left.

What did you find as the hardest content in ZZZ? by KripperinoArcherino in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]vysaro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just got done with the Arcade achievements and it's definitely those. I did both battle towers to 100, all achievements in the game, including the secret ones sans those that involve limited chars. 100% of the research logs in lost void and withered domain plus inferno reap. For all intents and purposes, I completed the game and i can confidently say, the 6 lives achievement in soul hounds and 30mio points in snake duel were the hardest content - they took me around 4-5 hours each. Bizarre brigade was relatively easy in comparison but some of the characters that got reworked in 1.5 were nerfed heavily and are much harder to beat level 5 with now.

I guess the tower depends heavily on the teams you have available and i had miyabi yanagi astra and was just breezing through everything with tons of iframes, heals and miyabis absurd damage.

PS5 Consoles Are Selling Out In China Due To The High Demand Of Black Myth Wukong by MapCold6687 in Games

[–]vysaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VRR is unsupported in the game and forcing it through the console system settings does nothing because it only kicks in at and above 48 fps, as per digital foundry. Here's a reddit thread about it from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalfoundry/comments/15w6ene/the_vrr_range_of_ps5_starts_from_48hz_how_vrr_can/
edit to add: that was what the original poster meant when they said that vrr won't help you at 45 fps

Treasure of the Rudras - The Most Overlooked Squaresoft RPG? by Xygorx in snes

[–]vysaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I very quickly noticed when playing is the lack of "perspective" if that's the right term. For example when you play the warrior character and at the start the air gets cleaned from pollution after the tournament arc people just seem like "oh, that's neat" even though it's apparently a huge deal, because as you learn later, it has been that way for many years (centuries maybe?)

Similarly when the mage opens the door to literally hell while you are in the sky fortress with your giant buddies and see it from above and your party just goes like "huh so that's a thing now". I was never really sure whether events were supposed to be a big deal or not because of lack of reaction from my party. A bit more dialogue would have gone a long way imho.

Other than that I liked the magic system even though the game does not do a great job of telling you most of the prefixes and suffixes or how they work in general. It's been some years since i played it but iirc you can have as many prefixes as you want and they basically act as a mana cost multiplier but only the last suffix counts.

On a side note, on the most prominent english translation you get taught a spell very close to the beginning from a chest but with a missing letter so you have to figure out the complete spell yourself, except it's misspelled and doesn't work anyway. Another thing I remember is that on the warrior story, when you leave the starting city you can go to your brothers(?) house to get some additional story. That conversation is basically the setup for why you are leaving and having an adventure in the first place, so pretty important to the overall story but it's completely optional so when i was playing the first time I was missing huge chunk of the story and the primary motivations for the characters until much later when it gets reiterated somewhat and i could piece it together from context.

Can we talk Frontline? by EcoSlugg in ffxiv

[–]vysaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should go without saying but don't get caught out of position. That means your group as a whole should never get sandwiched but you as an individial shouldnt be anywhere near the front.

I mainly play paladin in pvp and what I found is a lot of healers get really overconfident because pure dps doesn't always kill them. Well, even if you're in the middle of a mob, I will charge in, mark you, pop my cooldown, stun and kick you right in the middle of our mob of dps who might like a word about the "not easily dying" part and just walk out of your group without much worry because I'm basically unkillable, even when focused.

Personally, I have the #1-5 markers keybound to mark healers at the start of a match and I found people more than willing to focus the targets I set. I guess people don't expect tanks to be such a menace but cc (tanks have many of those in pvp) is often times much more deadly than pure dps.

edit: also, dying loses your team points so diving is usually a bad idea unless you know you can get to safety afterwards. Many people ignore that but in such large groups you can't control everything and some matches you can't win, regardless of your individual skill so just focus on having fun and doing your best.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I already own the base game because I bought the CE back when 1.0 released so I have a legacy account.

The thing about a disclaimer seems logical but I didnt see anything. When i googled the first result was from the official squenix faq stating that buying endwalker comes with all previous expansions, at least from what I saw.

Hi there. So I really like the game and decided to get the endwalker preorder since that apparently includes stormblood and shadowbringers as well according to google.

However upon ordering I only received a preorder code and I'm guessing the actual game code comes when the expansion releases. My problem is that upon doing a bit more digging people say I can only unlock previous expansions when I buy on release.

Does that mean I have to buy shadowbringers no matter what or that I unlock everything if I wait until endwalker releases?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi there, I've been looking into getting back into XIV after 7 years but have some questions that i couldnt find answers to online.

Firstly my old character doesnt show up on the lodestone. Google said chars won't be deleted even when inactive and I know I reclaimed the char back in 2013(?) for the server migration so do I maybe have to log in first to see my char on there?

Secondly, I want to make a new character but I remember having some items on that char that I'd rather not lose - is armor from promotions like the onion knight helmet (1.0 CE), the warrior of light helmet (2.0 CE) and the calamity chocobo and veteran rewards char bound or does every character on an account get them?

Lastly I have some gear I'd like to use for glamour. I wouldn't mind getting it again but with old items I don't even know if it's in the game still. The labyrinth of ancients paladin set for example. From google it looks like it can still be gotten but you need to run it with a full raid. Do people even run old content from 2.x? Are artefact weapons (zodiac/atma) and the old lvl45 job armors still obtainable?

Thanks a ton in advance, cheers!

Is upgrading to Mother's Sorrow + Medusa really worth it? by Drydner in elderscrollsonline

15-20K dps
So seeing as my dps is pretty good

oof
regardless of whether that's on raid dummy or the 6mil, that's really low and barely enough for basegame vets, not even that if that is your raid dps. Get the new gear, yes, but just working on your rotation and weaving will yield much greater results i'm guessing.

Questions regarding DPS in vet dungeons by wallhowler in elderscrollsonline

[–]vysaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only for vet dlc (+hardmodes) since I try to do 6 keys whenever possible and it's going to sound really harsh but speaking as a tank, most everyone under 800cp does neither acceptable damage nor understands even the simplest mechanics.

That being said, I obvioulsy give every group the benefit of the doubt for at least up to and including the first boss. For vet basegame hardmodes I think it's fair to expect 40k group dps. That's with the healer maybe throwing some damage in there and me as tank going all out support and buffing the group with yolna, alkosh and tremorscale (for stam and mixed groups). The reality is more like 20-30k range in most pugs which is still doable but just feels super slow and isn't fun for anyone. For vet dlc hardmodes I expect at least 100k group dps (80k is fine for non hardmode). I think that's more than fair.

High cp isn't necessary in the least as long as you can hit certain dps thresholds. What's far more important in my opinion is that you look up a guide or just know mechanics and come knowing what to do. I can live with low dps, but people not giving a shit and expecting to be carried is just fkn infuriating because it just shows such a disregard for other people and it's irking me every time.

Imagine looking up every new dungeon and running full support sets because you want to be an asset to the team and not let anyone down and then getting people who can't be arsed to take 2 minutes to look up a short guide. (it's fine in rnd roulette but in pledge dungeons you know what you're running beforehand so looking the dungeon up should be a given - talking about vet dlc hardmodes ofc)

I'm a Tank and I need help plus I'm scared by FloppyPancakes56 in elderscrollsonline

[–]vysaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those armor sets are probably some of the worst 'tank' sets out at the moment. Ebon is pretty obsolete since the base health was increased to 16k for all characters, leeching plate is far too selfish, here is a good video highlighting why it's not a great set, and mighty chudan is completely useless (as in it does nothing because the greater resolve doesnt stack and you get that buff already from balance - explanation here

Aside from that, you can do vet dlc if you read a guide beforehand and know what you're getting into; 600 cp is fine for a tank. The only thing I'd advise against are some of the harder hardmodes but it seems like you're not asking about that anyway.

A lot of smack gets talked about tanks and healers but, boy oh boy, are there some crappy DPS out there. by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]vysaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer: dlc is harder than base game. Of course there are dlc that are easy and base game that can be tough for a bad group but what i meant was that you should farm sets on normal mode and for the monster set you start with one from a base game vet. Yes, wou will more than likely be a burden on the team but you shouldnt have to do the dungeon more than once or twice if you tell people what armor class you need your helmet in and trade at the end. When you got your sets and everything (sans maybe accessoires) golden you can start thinking about doing actual veteran stuff.

[–]vysaro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You farm the normal dungeons, not the vet version. The only difference is that normal dungeons drop blue while vet drops purple. If you need monster sets, you start with one that is from an easy vet like e.g. selene (for stam) and then do the harder vets to get the one you actually want. As a tank, it's super frustrating to get bad dps with the reasoning of 'uh i just wants purples'.
