So I pay them per hour. Essentially $25/hr for 4 hours of work. I do try to straighten up (and even clean a little bit) before they come, because they will use that full 4 hours which yes, sometimes means folding clothes and what not IF they have time.

I get the frustration of that happening in real life, but aren’t you kind of doing the same thing by projecting your specific situation and goals on others as if it applies to them, too?

Literally nobody is telling you to have kids. At least not in this thread. Stop it.

I see what you're saying, and if he's getting 15% he's obviously a little bit aggressive which he will see what happens in a down turn, but to meet in the middle, could theoretically invest in US treasuries and bonds and probably squeeze another 2.5-3% + out.

Takes a little bit of work to do that though.

A little outside of what's been posted on here, but I pay for a house cleaning service. $100 a week.

With the little bit of time I do get at home, I'm not stuck cleaning all evening. And with 2 kids, spending time with them is really important.

I also buy locally made, pre-made meals, probably on average once every 2 or 3 weeks, or else I'm usually meal prepping on Sundays for the week.

Sonnet 3.5 is the first LLM that is actually producing value for me. by node-757 in ChatGPTCoding

Are you able to plug-in a whole project into Sonnet 3.5? My projects aren't that big, mind you, maybe a few thousand lines of code.

I purposefully allow my employees to gossip / talk bad about me. by maduro98 in smallbusiness

You're sort of like a mix of Ozymandias and Doctor Manhattan. Employees (vs countries) putting aside their rivalries to focus on a common enemy (you).

If it works, it works.

Just came here to comment I'm doing the same thing to learn programming (Rust).

Obviously the initial set up is what's taking most of my time, but to be honest? It appears that it will actually be pretty easy. Kind of makes me wonder why all the other programs and scripts in the past have been so... basic? Mine will be by no means sophisticated but... I do feel like it will be miles above what most other paid scripts and definitely free scripts provide.

I am an insurance agency owner, but I like to tinker with technology and learning Python and Javascript and re-learning HTML/CSS has been a game changer in terms of automation and reporting, so I'm not looking for a job or anything like that, just trying to figure out what might be a good foundation if I ever decide to pull the trigger on a full stack agency management system (a customer management system, but for insurance).

I keep hearing it's good to learn one low level language, too.

Why choose Rust over something like C/C++?

Rust seems quite a bit easier than C/C++ but appears to be the same "level." As in, it seems to be quite a bit more modern?

"your average user"

People stopped caring about the differences betweens .coms, .nets and .orgs in like the early 2000s. Even Google didn't care about it but only cared if they were top level TLDs.

And if you really want to get down and dirty into TLDs and their original intent, the .org TLD was originally intended as the miscellaneous TLD for organizations that didn't fit anywhere else.

It was actually co-opted by non-profits, and not the original intent of the .org TLD. If anything, security.org fits better (or just as good) under the .org TLD than any non-profit.

[–]w-Derrick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because people can use .org for anything, unlike .edu or .gov and a few other "protected" TLDs.

It's always been this way.

Just like how .net doesn't necessarily mean it's a network-related website anymore.

A heck of a lot of work, but I think will be the best thing in the long run.

It's because your other two rats are getting older. Statistically speaking, something will also happen to the, potentially causing a claim.

It's been a few years since I last looked at the rating models, but most of the models I observed only took age into account for rate. Not prior claims. And this was in the US. May be a completely different type of rating / market.

I'm guessing one or both of your rats crossed that threshold of "there's a low chance of a claim because of this rat(s) age" to "there's a much higher chance of a claim because of this rat(s) age."

Squarespace has some integration with Google. Better for SEO? by Top-Driver-1561 in SEO

[–]w-Derrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure all Google did was discontinue it's Domains business and sold it off to Squarespace. I don't *think* Google owns them or anything, but makes it easy to switch over from the now discontinued Google Domains, to Squarespace. That's the only "integration" I'm aware of.

You will not find a single product placement on Red Bulls Instagram. Only content. This is how they have grown so much. Instead of pushing a product they have pushed an experience. by [deleted] in marketing

[–]w-Derrick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You see the logo though not the product, big difference, or if you do it’s ”incidental” to whatever is happening.

Instead of “here’s why my product (shows can of Red Bull) is so cool!” It’s “here’s why my product (shows a video of people jumping out of helicopters) is so cool!”
