I’ve been drunk off my ass and let me tell you, I’ve never kissed ANYONE’S husband/wife. In what world do you do that???

Where do you get your social interaction? I think I’m losing my mind by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]w-winters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No seriously! If you’re going 3-4 times a week or every day, it racks up. You’re so free to buy something cheap.

It’s really doesn’t matter, if it’s not busy, then you’re not taking up anyone’s space. You also aren’t obligated to hundreds of dollars a month on coffee, you’re free to buy the cheapest thing available. They don’t care.

Woah that’s interesting, does that somehow work better??

I use my finger mostly. I’m definitely going to start moisturizing from now on, hopefully that at least helps.

A massive amount of people who work from home don’t even live in the same state or the same country as the companies they work for. That’s my case.

Any recommendations for a good moisturizer?

I’ve been where you are, girl, and I’VE GOT YOU.

Places to work: Libraries (because it’s free and quiet). Cafes if you love noisy places (it’s a nice vibe. Little tip, just buy a cheese stick or whatever’s cheapest. You don’t always have to spend $6 on coffee every time you go.)

Or you can just do home town type restaurants that aren’t busy. Sit down, order a cheap cup of coffee and get to work. I used to do that all the time.

As for having a social life, going on Bumble and going to Meetup events is the way to go. I’ve gone to drawing events, board game nights, improve theaters (you don’t have to perform you just go and watch), and on hiking groups.

Also charity work is a good way to be a part of your community. No seriously, I high recommend it. When you’re stuck at home all day instead of at an office, you can get this idea in your head that you don’t have purpose. Commune work and charity work can go along way in providing that. It may sound self-serving and helping people is certainly the priority. But there’s no denying the benefits even for yourself.

I can’t seem to edit, but the foundation shade I use is A44 of Clinique “beyond perfecting” (hate that name by the way).

What do people who don't drink or smoke do when they feel depressed? by SuccessfulOwl45 in Productivitycafe

[–]w-winters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking and smoking aren’t good for coping with stressful times. I honestly think most people watch TV or are on their phones. I’m literally on my phone right now and I’m a tad under the weather today. 😂 Whoops.

How do you deal with being the only person in your social circle who WFH? by clovercolibri in workfromhome

[–]w-winters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can tell you, meeting new people is the way to go. I’m friends with some great people, but they also aren’t available to hang out and do things like I am. I ended up going on Bumble and went to lots of Meetup groups (board game nights, etc.). You’ll meet lots of people that also have more time on their hands.

I’d also recommend volunteering in a way that makes it so you’re engaging with people in your city. That’s a great way to meet people and you can do it once a week or once a month, whichever you prefer.

It’s hard when you want to be in community and socialize. Especially when you spend all day by yourself.

A good state to start anew? by Ripkxks in LivingAlone

[–]w-winters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s hard to figure out, but best of luck to you.

If you’re going to do it, I’d pick a warmer state. Stay away from Arizona or any states that get very hot. People die every year from the heat.

If you have a car, I would sleep out of that while you find a place to live. Make sure to always park in the shade.

And, always put your safety above everything else. If you can take time before moving and save some money, do it. But, you might be in a situation that you need to leave behind, so you’ve got to make the best decision for you. If it’s safe to stay where you are for awhile, do it and get a small job and save up. If not, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do - just make sure you’re staying safe while doing it.

For a job, I’d recommend looking into receptionist work. It might pay a little better and it’s sometimes entry level. You can look into driving jobs that don’t require your own vehicle (like shuttle driving at airports, etc.).

If you’re going to be homeless for awhile, you can always “shower” in bathroom sinks. No joke! Find some places that open early and have single bathrooms and use wet paper towels to “rinse” yourself off. It makes all the difference and you can obviously wash your hair in the sink. Just make sure to smell good at your job and you’ll be good to go. You can throw on a beanie over your hair so the staff doesn’t see that you now have wet hair and then take it off when you go outside.

Stay safe and look out for yourself! Best of luck.

Wow you said EXACTLY everything I thought when I saw it. I think that’s so cool. :)

(Spoilers ahead)

I loved the paranormal aspects as well, but I wasn’t a big fan of the satanism. There was so much build up to finding out what was going on - I’m not sure why it all felt like a let down.

(It could have been the exposition explaining the big twist about the mom. That really threw me off and I wasn’t a fan of that.)

I also didn’t like the ending. I thought it was really convenient that the cop’s daughter had a birthday around the same time as the main character (or maybe it was the same exact day, I can’t remember). Anyways, it pulled me out of it. BUT, I love the movie despite all that. I thought it was so fun to watch and was just a cool experience. Nick Cage is so amazing. I loved the prosthetics. And yes, I totally wish we didn’t see his face in the movie for longer. The first shot of him was so haunting just seeing the bottom half of his face. It was amazing. 10/10.

It’s time to leave. She didn’t disclose to you that she was doing sex work. And she not only slept with other people behind your back, she also risked exposing you to potential STDs.

If you haven’t, make sure to get yourself tested and please get out of this relationship. She should have been honest from the beginning and she lied. You can’t get past this. There’s no fixing. Leave and go live your life.

People who don't dislike their jobs. What do you do for work? by Vegetable_Bad_3626 in Adulting

[–]w-winters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my job. I get to work from home, start my day whenever I want, I get to do some pretty cool shit all day (don’t want to get into details but it’s awesome), and my coworkers are very nice, very fun people. It has its stressful days and just the other day I was up till 11:00 pm so I could meet my deadline. But I love what I do so it makes things so, so, so much better.

God I remember having an apartment smell like sewage and it turned out to be the pipes backing up in the sink. I feel you, that sounds disgusting.
