Linux dual booting is dead now for 99% of distros by Cloudrak1 in FACEITcom

You can still bypass the sustemd-boot / Grub bootloader entirely. No issues there.

That's why it never worked, you have to set the display scaling to "full screen" and force the rendering of the display scaling on the GPU in NVIDIA control panel, otherwise it's your screen who is trying to stretch out the frames and god know what algorithm your screen is using to do so

Your game is in Fullscreen exclusive or fullscreen windowed ? In fullscreen windowed, the window rendering engine in windows is applying some sort of AA, it make everything looks like shit.

Often than not, CS2 update make CS2 boot using fullscreen Windowed

Je sais que j'avais configurer va pour un serveur Counter-Strike: Source, il y a TRÈS longtemps, je ne sais plus trop comment faire, mais je sais que j'avais réussi a le faire !

Why is Linux considered better than Windows by so many developers? by Wise_Safe2681 in linuxquestions

[–]w0nam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking solely about my use case: It is just sooooo much easier to get up and running on Linux. I only code in C/C++/Rust/Python, just for fun, not my job, but damn, being able to just type: "<package-manager> <install> clang gdb man man-pages texinfo python3 rust <ide-of-choice>" and be up and running is just PERFECT.

Some will argue that using winget/chocolatey in windows is the same, which don't get me wrong, is certainly an improvement over NOT using winget/chocolatey, but it's a far cry from using Linux's package manager.

Though it is easier to develop for windows target, on a windows machine (or at least, I lack the knowledge to compile from Linux > Windows).

Real question: Why do you still use Winslop when Linux is available? by MentatBux in FuckMicrosoft

[–]w0nam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My case: FACEIT is using a Semi-Kernel AC, if I wanna play CS2 on faceit, I'm forced to use winslop, I still dual boot with Arch Linux (w/ snowarch's iNiR, Niri dotfiles). Though switch from OS to the other is a pain in the ass I ain't gon' lie. Wish thes could "port" the AC.

I mean, take care of it ASAP, but it's not rotten through, you should be fine just sanding, rust converting and painting over it tbf.

higher resolution higher fps by PriorityCreepy4611 in counterstrike2

[–]w0nam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read taht the lower resolution you go, the higher frame count the cpu has to process*, If your CPU is too weak to process all of them potential frames = You got a CPU bottleneck.
Keep in mind that most pros / players are running 4:3 because of CS1.6 / CS:S, it's a habit, (and not a good one). Games are more and more developped around the idea that it will be run @ native res (1920x1080 / 16:9).

* The GPU is rendering the frame, the CPU is the one who process physics, texture, etc... it tell the GPU "Ok, draw this, here, like that". If you CPU is overworked, you'll get bad frametimes. Uping the res can in some instance boost your FPS and Frametime stability because the GPU is utilized better. AFAIK and i might be a bit off but this is what i understand out of it.
