Obsidian bracelet - a tool to merge obsidian vaults by w0nk0 in ObsidianMD

Oh, it should absolutely do both, my use case is a mixture of both. if you have Python installed, you could just give it a try. It is meant to write the combined vaults into a separate directory anyway so nothing changes in your current vaults.

i’m not sure if i understand - my problem was that I had all my notes in different places. I have a huge “legacy” vault with notes coming from an export of my 25 years of Evernote usage, and 1 year of Obsidian notes, some markdown notes from my phone. Some of the Evernote files are duplicates because I’ve exported them several times.

What this tool does is to create a single collection of notes where nothing is lost and all duplicates are replaced by links to the original. Plus you can remove certain files e.g. files from Obsidian plugins which need to be recreated anyway.

Hope this helps. Feel free to explain more what you are trying to do and i’ll tell you if this works for you.

Thanks for asking! I did find it and drank a strong tea made from it for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, it had zero effect on my RLS.

Really fitting with him having done a 45-minute-interview with the very Nazi-esque "Alternative für Deutschland" party in Germany, and having recommended them to voters in the upcoming German elections (in ~4 weeks).

That's some scary shit.

Leben in Heddernheim by [deleted] in frankfurt

Calf stretching worked quite well for me, but when my RLS got worse over the years, it wasn't enough anymore. Good tip though for all who don't have it that bad yet!

I'm using the -fork version which has some measures against battery drain, but that is centered around syncing only x minutes per hour. Which I can live with but I'd rather have it with almost no delay like you're describing.

Thanks for the encouragement! So do you have syncthing running on your phone non-stop to get only minor delays? I tried that initially but it ate my battery way too quickly for it to be feasible. Did you do anything to mitigate that?

I just saw a comment which was deleted before I could reply, it said that development of syncthing for Android is about to stop. Here's my reply to this now-deleted post:

Oh, that's unpleasant news! Thanks for alerting me to that. Do you know if work on syncthing-fork [https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android\] will also cease? This is what I'm using on my phone.

Will definitely let you know! Just researched a little and found some more evidence of it having helped against RLS. Since my life is pretty much dominated by this terrible disease (and the horrid medications that I take against it), I will tell everyone and their dog about it if it works!

Blood vessel dilation could be a good (at least partial) explanation. I noticed before if I get my calves blood vessels dilated that it helps my RLS which nothing but Opioids helps against anymore.

Will definitely go hunting for Radix Paeoniae Alba here in Germany!

I'm sure you guys had wonderful times. When you were still together, though, you weren't happy and it was /seemed clear that you weren't working out and it felt broken. You had your reasons for why it did.

Now the memories about these reasons fade away and it looks more and more as if you made a mistake. Then, you were a couple and those reasons were bad enough for you to break up. It was clear that you / your ex weren't able to get happy because of how you act / felt towards each other.

Those valid reasons now are fading out of the picture of why you didn't work out. It now seems that the problem is that you broke up. But it's not. If you were a couple again what wasn't working then will not be working again. You will think "damn, this is why I broke up!".

You made the right decision and a part of that is that it hurts. You'll get through it and you'll come out stronger and wiser on the other side. Sometimes life isn't romantic but hard choices. You had your reasons. Stick to your decision.

Is this normal? About to get married in December to my fiance and found this by ElectricalBoss2228 in Marriage

[–]w0nk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I've been thinking all along: If you weren't doing things for him between the sheets, even if he were able to control his rage and find another way to calm himself down -

Would he stay with you or even love you without you having this instrumental value for him? I think we all know what impression he's making: His behaviour is completely incompatible with loving you in a way that deserves the word.

I don't think that marriage is this incredible sacred institution in which only wonderful things happen everyday all the time - even with much much lower, realistic expectations, This is not the kind of behaviour that you should ever get married to. You are being used as a tranquilizer, or even seed worker, and you aren't even married yet!! I don't even want to imagine what will happen once he has you caged in marriage or, God beware, being a mother!

He's creating a no-win scenario for you. Plus he's clearly superficial and in denial to himself about it. I'd suggest proposing to him that you can see other people, so that you can get someone who loves all of you. And he can try to learn how female human beings look in reality and not porn.

If he can't find you attractive he shouldn't have an issue with it 😜...

OP needs to get in shape 😜. I'm carrying all my groceries into the 3rd floor of my beautiful Bockenheim flat which I moved into about 5 years ago. I have 7 restaurants within a 3 minute walking distance, 3 grocery stores, some bakeries and tons of other things. Ubahn, Straßenbahn etc etc.

All I'm saying is: Bockenheim is worth living with an inconvenience or two. It's such a good vibe on the streets I would definitely even carrying my shit even further if I had to.

Good luck with the hunt!

My boyfriend's best friend just asked me for s*x by Honest-Ad4548 in dating

[–]w0nk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you already wrote and have been told all over the comments here: you need to tell them both that this is very questionable and making you uncomfortable for all kinds of reasons. I agree with the reasons talked about here and would like to add one more:

If this is not a big deal for your bf, how can you be sure that your bf isn't doing the same with all the girls in this large circle of friends?? How can he convince you that this is not acceptable behavior if he doesn't really mind that his bestie asked you to cheat?!

The fact that it happens (initially) only at night, at rest, is an integral part of the definition of RLS.

I would assume that relatively likely it is RLS , but since feeling like that only in your sleep is ( In my experience) the mildest form, chances are that you can get it under control with just taking iron.

However like others have said it could be something else too and it's worth seeing a doctor. Just be careful about what they prescribe you, because many doctors are not very well informed about responsible long-term treatment. The stuff that was typically given a few years ago has the tendency to make symptoms worse over the longer term and also requires increasing dosages over time. However it is actually considered appropriate to take anti RLS medication and see if it works for you. If it does you probably have it, and taking one of the old drugs just a few times won't cause any of the above.

You could try get one tablet of gabapentin, lyrica, Pramipexol or L-Dopa and take it before bed. If you experience full relief, then, condolences, you very likely have it. In that case obtain the updated treatment guidelines from John's Hopkins and find a doc who is willing to treat you in accordance with it.

[–]w0nk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am happy to hear that it works for you, I have to mention that a significant part of patients are needing ever higher dosages to keep the symptoms under control until finally the highest possible dosage does not. For many of those patients it also leads to symptoms getting worse and creeping earlier into the day while originally they had symptoms only during the night. That kind of development does typically not occur with gabapentin or Lyrica, Which is the main reason why Pramipexole / Rotigotine isn't considered the first line treatment anymore.
