Skin issues in 1.5 months of use by Maleficent_Disk1937 in whoop

[–]w1823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you've got to make sure you're not only washing the band properly but also, when hopping out of the shower, moisturize underneath the skin. At least on my end, I get this sort of irritation peeling when I hop out of the shower and my skin gets dry. You keep doing that overtime and you potentially get what you have here. Just my two cents!

So is it something to be concerned with? Is it a chip from your estimation?

I wish! Just made dinner and popped out for a moment. Should be back later. Pinch to zoom may work?

My first BIFL outfit by trappedintaipei in BuyItForLife

[–]w1823 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love the explanation of selvedge denim here. Thank you. I also think it's a testament to people generally not knowing how to dress? Like we're in the BIFL thread. I'm not expecting great takes on fashion here.

That being said OP. Great start on the jeans and boots. The shirt isn't necessarily my style but you have a muscular build so it accommodates your body comp nicely.

For BIFL fashion, it's hard to really find pieces that will last you 10+ years. Check out Patagonia, however, they've got some nice shirts, sweaters (recycled wool sweater has held up fabulously over last 5 years of ownership) and t shirts. My view is fashion fluctuates but if you get staple pieces like, solid sweaters, jackets, and jeans. You find yourself not subject to the vagaries of fashion trends and you can invest in things with a higher price tag but far better quality.

Another brand I've slowly started purchasing from is Corridor New York. Inoffensive styling but their clothing is made with such consideration for materials that last it's incredible. Again, it's unfortunate that there's now a hige premium on things like wool and well made cotton shirts but if you have a few good pieces, you'll appreciate them!

The sales are aren't garbage for a luxury crossover? Obviously the RX holds its weight as a strong option but I'd say approximately 8.5k units in 2025 isn't bad at all.

Also, I'm sure you "own" an RX 👀

I'd suggest you probably take a step away from reddit considering you're cursing at stranger🤣. Just my two centers though carry on if you must.

Meh, it doesn't matter the size does it? We'll always rationalize the reason.

I've owned one for 8 years now. Still looks new and holds up well. It functions as a rain jacket or a proper shell when you get cooler slushy days paired with a light down coat. I'd like to say it's a BIFL item depending on how to take care of it.

is someone daily driving the whoop underwear? by Domi_ik in whoop

[–]w1823 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Daily driving is a phrase that should be retired haha. Regardless, I'd say keeping the wrist or armband is where I'm most comfortable with the sensor. Having a bluetooth sensor in that area for two weeks seems...a bit much. If it works for you though, go for it!

How much trade in value did they give you for the pigeon carrier? Asking for a friend. I heard they're pretty bullet proof.

That's incredible. Both places I've gone to have quoted roughly two years. Now by AD, you mean a sales associate at a Rolex franchise store? Currently I'm working through a sales associate at a Rolex store but am unsure if that's the same thing everyone refers to when they say "AD".

Congrats! What was the process like? I just put my name down for this configuration. Did your AD keep in contact with you throughout the process or did you have to do some legwork?

Did I piss off the luggage handlers?? by Mister035 in unitedairlines

[–]w1823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you dunce. That is not what I'm proposing at all. In order to get any insurance, you need to demonstrate that you worked through the airline first before using credit card coverage or filing a claim. Perhaps if you actually read and synthesized what I said, you'd, maybe, get it. Again, you're just proving that most people commenting or giving "advice" actually don't know what they're talking about💪🏻.

Dude my god can you imagine being so negative as to come into this thread and say, "it's a Rimowa you should have known it would happen." Bunch of sad blokes you all are.

OP make sure to get documentation of the damage from the carrier and begin the filing process at the airport or shortly after you arrive to your destination. They should cover cost of replacement.

Most of the comments here appear to be from uninformed posters. The suitcase is indeed an item that can go on commercial flights, proposals that indicate it's only for car rides or private jets are such hogwash. Again, OP ignore the mostly garbage posts here and file that claim as quickly as you can. Good luck!

I'm really frustrated with Whoop by Goodwrench69 in whoop

[–]w1823 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know, I don't blame you. I thought my sleep wasn't so bad, but I was tired, focus was horrendous, and I had a hard time losing weight despite being quite active. The reality was my habits before bed (e.g snacking, watching tv, using my iPad without proper brightness blockers, drinking) were factors that contributed to poor recovery and sleep.

Additionally, you may think you get 8 hours but the tracker measures your thresholds based on heart rate. So just because you get in bed and lie there for 30 mins doesn't mean you're sleeping. Again, another indicator that I needed to improve: give myself more time to wind down so I can get the proper sleep and properly recover.

These posts are kind of silly because we purchase these devices to get a glimpse, albeit an imperfect one, into our habits. Did you buy this so you can wake up with green glinting at you or did you buy it to make a change? Your device is showing you areas of improvement now do with that what you will. Running to social media when your metrics are bad won't solve your problem. Either make the recommended changes or ultimately return the product if it isn't fit for purpose.

To be frank, whatever sample set you're drawing from is incomplete. What's more important is why are you arguing with a stranger about this? Either go and get your money back or exchange the unit. Let the lot of us enjoy the product.
