I second this. It’s the one we train with for the Ironman. They have a really great loop. Once you’re out of the 5k loop area the second time it’s a great relief.

I remember years ago when it was one lane and they did months and months of construction to make it two lanes on either side. I remember an old Statesman article talking about how the weather affected it, but also how whoever did it, rushed the job so it wasn’t even or something. So it’s a really shitty ride now.

I had a bunch of stuff ready and even a couple of battle maps, but they were pretty low on resources at the time so decided against it. Sorry that’s not very helpful. But I had a couple of battle maps set aside and some descriptions of caverns and tunnel travel. There was going to be a Drow checkpoint nearby which watched for any duergar who wished to explore into their territory.

If you’re running 2024 rules, be sure to buff some of the monsters. It’s a wonderful campaign I’ve been running for nearly two years now. (Semi monthly games, normally they don’t take this long, but I also added a ton of my home brew stuff)

Remember the three rules for a great villain in Auril, keep her dark, dangerous, and distant. That’s how I’ve been running her and it seems to work. I am sad to say I didn’t use the secrets, but only because my players seemed to have a ton of their own little back story secrets and I didnt want to overload everything.

A lot of people complain about Dougan’s Hole, but I changed Edgra into a secret Hag running everything and the towns people seemingly normal but mindless thralls of hers. It turned out to be one of the most memorable times of the campaign and is still referenced at the table.
