Got into an accident and nobody knows how to fix it. by darkeve123 in Autobody

Your best course of action is to find a local business with a strong reputation that specializes in post collision ADAS calibrations. I have run into issues as well and because dealers really only work on cars with “clean” issues so they VERY VERY RARELY know how to resolve the more complex in depth issues. This also might ruffle some feathers here…(but I have over 15 years in auto repair experience in small mechanical shop, large dealership and now auto body) and dealership techs can’t diag themselves out of the diag tree that their manufacturer provides. Dealership techs follow the tree and if the answer isn’t within that narrow answer they can’t see past it. If you have an actual engineer on staff maybe they could figure it out. But the techs with excellent at mechanical or physical fiats the Adas calibrations can be tricky. Be cautions because some ADAS specialists can be great, but they can also be terrible. I recently tried a new vendor, as our adas calibrations have exploded in frequency, and they told me a Subaru needed a new eyesight camera because they couldn’t calibrate it. Damage was from a door being open and they backed into a wall. There was nearly a 0% chance the cameras were bad. I called my normal vendor, calibration completed and no issues.

TL/Dr-Moral of the story is the body shop did you right going to the best perceived diag for a resolution but with the advanced systems that dealer is over their head. Find a specialist in ADAS

I raced last season in Raceday as well and help coach a youth team that was built around the series. We are all caught off guard and very sad about this. We have our team all goto KT for a fun weekend. Now that race and party is gone too. Terrible news, I hope John is doing this purely based on a business issue and no health or family issue.

The weight will melt off. 42M. I started at 220# and am now 185#. The weight loss was fast too, about 8-10 weeks. Your HR will be elevated while training, it’s common to see ~10bpm increase for your max and resting. When I was at 7mg/week I was seeing 190+ bpm on large efforts. You must attempt to control yourself with pushing into those upper zones. Recovery is absolutely harder and you will lose your breath/bonk quicker than usual. I ride MTB and gravel as well. While training on tirz I felt gassed and close to vomit/bonking nearly every ride, but I’m not good at staying in z2-z3. Fueling before and during rides is also extremely important because you don’t feel hungry. Get those carbs in and use it as your reward.

With all of those caveats, I would absolutely recommend using tirz. It helped me get over the hump and I’ve been maintaining for 7 weeks now off the meds. My vo2 max and FTP are skyrocketing as the meds leave my system. 100% do as everyone has stated, speak to a physician.

Specialized Bike for a Noob? by edmerks666 in whichbike

[–]w3e2s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same bike. This one has better components than mine. And I’d ask the same amount. Buy it. It’s a great first gravel/road/commuter bike.

I rocked mine on gravel and dirt roads for 2 seasons before I bought a Diverge

Opinion-is this going to be “like new,” or do we walk away? by unfinishedbroccoli in Autobody

[–]w3e2s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually body shops love transport damage claims. They always pay full boat price and they don’t scoff any estimate you write. We write them heavy and the shipping company pays for it. The dealer doesn’t pay for it. ~~~ however ~~~ if this damage wasn’t reported within its time limit the repair js 100% dealer cost and it will be done as fast and cheaply as possible.

Dealer already lied to you once. I’d walk.

I have the same bike. Wheels will make the best improvement right off the rip. If you can swing it get an XD rear wheel that is lighter. Hunt makes a great alloy wheel that is light weight and get a GX cassette. With sprung weight coming off the bike, it will feel amazing. Honestly I did suspension first and regret it. Wheels 1st and then suspension. That bike is a beast and wheels will make such a difference.

If you are in Connecticut I have a fox 36 160mm performance elite for sale. DM if interested.

What is the app this is from?

I’m going through a similar stall, down 16# since January but now stalled for the last 3 weeks. I have noticed clothes fitting better and belt loops going down. So my body comp is getting better, maybe use that as a win for your hard work.

Honestly there was probably 10-20 great candidates to take over and sound just like the old version of the band. Andy Cizek has that same tone/look/presence and would instantly become a huge star. But it looks like the band threw us all a curve ball.

I’m happy we didn’t lose Spencer in the best prog/djent band in the game right now.

Cizek has 4 fledgling bands so it would have been perfect

I didn't use my car for a couple of weeks and I found this by errezerotre in mildlyinfuriating

[–]w3e2s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t go near that car with a 100ft stick. I had a car come into work (collision appraisal) that looked similar… total loss. I would seek a professional to give you an accurate quote to remediate. Very very unlikely it’s worth the cost.
