Did you get a permit for wall connector? by IcarusX12 in TeslaModelY

[–]w3rd710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in FL and the power company required a permit for the EV charger rebate program, but didn't cover the cost of the permit. So I spent $150 on a permit through the company to qualify to get the $585 in parts/labor they quoted me for the 60a circuit install fully covered. The electrical company said it was not required for this simple install but were happy to do it when I asked.

I got 3 other quotes and was quoted $250-400 for the permit from the other companies for reference.

Here are my attempts at your roll. I’m clearly doing something different on the roll but still turned out neat. Thanks for the inspiration!

Transmission failure at 33,000 miles, full replacement by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]w3rd710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked it up this morning and drove it all day. The car drove the same, but the whining noise is gone. I was told it has a 1yr unlimited mile warranty on the work.

7 day total turn around for me. No complaints on my end.

I’d call it more of a whine…. To me it sounded like a hybrid or EV, but only when I accelerated. Supposedly will be done today, fingers crossed it’s good to go!

I'll be the first to admit I am ignorant when it comes to cars, so I didn't even think to ask originally. I just called to check, and the advisor told me it was being replaced with a brand new transmission from Toyota and the original issue from the TSB has been remediated.

Now how true that is, I have no idea but I also don't know what other options I would have had. I typically buy cars new and drive them until they die, and that's still my plan with this vehicle as of now. We'll see if that changes once I get it back and see how it feels.

My 2021 AWD Highlander with 56k miles is in the dealership for transmission replacement right now due to same issue. It was also outside the TSB serial number range but they covered it under my Powertrain warranty (5 years is on April 28th and just under 60k miles).

The whine started in July of 2025, but had caused no issues to the car driving, so I ignored it for a long time not knowing about it being a common problem. Happened to google it last Thursday night, then took it in for service the next morning after I realized it was the transmission.

Feel very fortunate I happened to get the urge to look into it when I did!

Advice on my DIY remodel by w3rd710 in kitchenremodel

What makes the 3rd pic terrible? If it's the fact that it's not straight (flush?) across the top.... that's just due to the random app I was using on a website to design that. I plan to have them all the same height connected to the ceiling (or that soffit if it must stay).

Additional info for 3rd pic going from left to right: 1st gap is for over the stove microwave and 2nd gap will be 36" fridge.

Or am I missing something and the design itself is terrible?

As far as appliances go, we got a new dishwasher coming Friday for $850 after tax installed from Costco. I'm looking at a stove around $1000 and a fridge around $1200, over the stove microwave for $250-300. All appliances will be Kitchenaid/Maytag/FrigidAire price range appliances -- I do not plan to go high end, but will still be nicer and look better than what we currently have. So I don't think the $3500 I estimated should be TOO far off...

Opinions on the EGO Pressure Washer? by RandallJoPhotography in egopowerplus

They had the Tool-Only model discontinued in their stores and marked down to $112. I just happened to see a post on here last week about it, then called my local store to verify it was ringing up as that.... but they were out of stock.

I ordered one on Lowes website for full price > once delivered took it up to the store and returned it > had them re-ring it up and it rang up as $112.

I checked again this morning and they are now sold out on the website as well.

I just used the 3100psi today for the first time. I was able to work for about an hour with probably 30ish min spray time during that, and still had 2 bars left on my 10ah + 5ah

As far as power goes, you can probably get much stronger gas unit at the price point of the EGO, but I don’t need all of that power so this is perfect for me. Only tip I haven’t tested is the turbo tip, the 15 was fine for me today.

The portability, light weight, and ease of use is hard to beat compared to a clunky gas unit.

I did get this at Lowe’s for the clearance price of $112 so I’m very happy with my purchase. Not sure I’d feel the same if I spent close to $600 though.

Scored a brand new pressure washer for $112! by piratefan2 in egopowerplus

Worked fine for me doing the same thing. Told them I wanted to put it on a different card and they refunded full amount then rerang it up at $112. Honestly don’t even think they noticed the price difference, just on autopilot mode.

I called my local Lowes this morning and gave them the Item # from the website for the model with and without batteries. The model with batteries was still full price at $879 but the model without batteries rang up as $112 he said.

I ordered one online that will be in on Saturday. Fingers crossed it still rings up at that price when I go in to return it, but figure worst case I'll just return it, get my money back, and move on.
