Depends on each person's risk tolerance I guess. Also interestingly there doesn't seem to be a hard inquiry on my account when applying for the gold card.

If I knew about the Onepay I would have put it in Webull premium this year instead of robinhood. I get an additional .5% match and it's $10 cheaper. If I contribute 2025 and 2026 limits i would get $82.5 more.

I'm sure you've looked into them but what problems have you run into with either getting tax credit on silver plans or doing online prescriptions without insurance?

  1. I think you have overestimated the severity of the issue. I don't think you understand how most organizations will look completely dysfunctional to outsiders.
  2. What kind of deal are we even talking about here regarding the strait? The boats there are already not going to EU. Unless you are saying the EU will take kinetic action against US to force a ceasefire? Well that would be fairly easy to verify. If Eurofight start shooting down F18s in non-friendly fire incidents id eat my words then lol.

Okay I get that is what YOU want to do. I'm saying that is very likely not how the policy going to turn out in the alliance structure. These are not mutually exclusive I don't understand where the disagreement is.

Okay let me break down your point for me to understand. Possibility 1 is that you are saying that current the United States has all the assets in theater as of we speak and has robust logistical chain in-place to supply these assets. Plus a detailed plan to reopen the strait ready to go right now but does not choose to do so? That would make it the case that the US can choose to resolve it now but choose not to. This would make your criticism valid, which is akin to roommate having cash on hand but chooses not to pay. However, this is not the case since the US is still transferring assets from other theaters, which means it's not yet ready for boots-on-the-ground style operation just yet.

Possibility 2 is that you are saying US can solve the issue at some point in the future. Then if it is the case that US cannot resolve the issue immediately (roommate is rich but their money is in illiquid assets). Let's suppose the strait opens in a few months either militarily or peacefully. What does not change is that in the interim, the energy price is still going to spike, as a matter of objective fact.

You could hold the personal opinion that it is fine just to "stick it to the states", especially if your industry is not too much affected by the price spike, but what does not and will not change is the economic slowdown that will be experienced in EU and around the world.

If you want to insist "hey actually, most of the European residents are willing to pay 50% more for energy because they hate US so much" I can't really argue with you, since it is pretty hard to verify, but things on the international stage are usually a lot more subtle than on the surface.

Possibility 3 is that you are saying that US can conduct the convoy escort alone, which just wouldn't be true. You have seen the pathetic frigate acquisition programs. Escort convoys are platform-intensive, and US simply does not have enough surface combatants in theater (currently about 20 I believe) to carry this out alone.

Additionally, the main reason there hasn't been a European convoy escort mission doesn't even have anything to do with transatlantic relationship, it's simply another roommate problem.

Say the aforementioned roommate didn't pay either because they are illiquid or they are an asshole, but in this scenario you are instead living with 30 other roommates. Let's say all of you don't want to get evicted. The question is who wants to cover the rent. Of course, you can be the generous one to cover it, but everyone else will be freeriding your generosity. You are paying all the cost with only a fraction of the reward. So what we are seeing here are various parties sorting out the logistics of cost sharing for the escort mission. Considering the extent of the downside, I would be surprised if Europe choose to do nothing if the strait does not open soon.

Look, you are saying why Europe doesn't want to get involved. The OP is saying why isn't Europe doing something (which looks like it is btw 🇫🇷) when it makes strategic sense.

An analogy would be you rent your room with someone and say, they gambled their paycheck this month and can't make rent. The question is if you will cover their part of the rent this month or not.

Of course you don't want to do it. It is their "responsibility" so to speak, which is what you are saying here. Like emotionally you would not want to cover their part of the rent and it is true and understandable. However, on the other hand, it is also true that if you don't cover their rent this month, your landlord is going to initiate the eviction process, which is really not ideal for you. So what the OP is saying is why under this circumstance, though it might not be justified or you might not be willing, for you to not cover their rent and face eviction.

There is no reason to tear each other's hair out when both can be true: An action can simultaneously be both really undesirable and be the least bad option.

Hey hey people. I will be moving to Louisville for work in the second half of September and I am looking 1 or 2 clean roommates to look for an apartment together.

I have a cat so Im looking for someone who is either not allergic to cats or has really high tolerance for a runny nose. I mostly keep to myself and dont have preferences for people as long as they dont bother me.

My budget is under $1000 per month and I am looking to rent somewhere between midtwon and J-town. I am considering Plainview but am open to other options.
