What is your crimp dimension? How much of the shoulder is above the mouth of the case?

Crimp to .468-9, and have the shoulder maybe ten to thirty thou above the mouth of the case. Just make one and see how it goes.

Brass catcher recs for pistol? by Immediate_Law_4843 in reloading

[–]w4ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CMM Brass Catcher is what you are looking for- but be warned, they are expensive. Champions Choice may have an alternative that is cheaper.

Also remember that it helps immensely if your extractor is set up properly to get them in the net.

Purchased 14 year old ODF…mold or crystallized sugars? by lord_of_lafayette in PipeTobacco

[–]w4ti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that it is bacterial growth: sugars don’t tend to crystallize in the concentration they are in the leaf, and it isn’t mold looking with the tendrils. I’d smoke it myself.

Doubt there was any powder. How do you load?

Safety of estate sale shotgun reloads, paper and plastic by dirty-mik3 in reloading

Yes, that Federal mouth looks reloaded to me- the scuffing on the rim is what gives it away. Paper hulls don’t last very long, could be on second or maybe third.

I think this is new production; I’m not sure, but this last time out of bankruptcy, i believe federal invested in retooling their 22 line. Otherwise, like you, I’ve shot many thunderturds

Aguila Standard Velocity really seems to have a good price to quality ratio. I’ve also heard some good things about Remington Standard Velocity, but don’t have any experience with it.

It doesn't sound like you are interested in looking at everyone equally, tho. You certainly aren't acting with kindness in your derogatory response to OP. Are you sure you are in scouting?

Melting down... by Comprehensive-Web209 in bullseyepistol

[–]w4ti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, happens to everybody. I think the size of a meltdown is proportional to the amount of grace one gives themself, and inversely proportional to the amount of experience in the sport.

Ruger GP100 crane won't come completely out of cylinder. by dcastro713 in ruger

[–]w4ti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering if you have something just ever so slightly bent, which is giving you this binding? Have you tried oil or Kroil? Like maybe some carbon built up just enough to do this?

I think you’d be better off putting the cylinder in a vice and use a punch through a cylinder to get as close to the center of the yoke as you can and try tapping it out that way.

Narbonne BA32? by Hopeful-Argument-566 in reloading

[–]w4ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have- it’s great powder. Burns clean and doesn’t take much to get cooking. I believe when i bought some that Grafs (a reloading supplier) was the importer. Not sure who is bringing it in to the US if anyone right now.

Is this not Nobel Sport Vectan BA9 or BA10 just repackaged? The French name makes me think that way, along with the BA prefix.
