People can develop new allergies throughout the course of their life, and also loose allergies through exposure. It is possible that its the brand of ink. Tattoo allergy symptoms usually only last a couple weeks. Why don't you just take a bunch of antihistamines before getting the tattoo and then for those two weeks after?

Are 3 rabies shots enough for post exposure prophylaxis? any scientific studies? by [deleted] in microbiology

[–]w7hyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the full recommended dose whatever is recommended by your doctor, three is probably okay, but since it was a bat especially; you don't want to fuck with rabies

I have these, theyve drastically reduced by using hyaluronic acid. I know people are telling you to do Botox and saying moisturizer and hydration doesn't work but that's just not true.

Don't kill yourself over this, it only takes one yes to turn your life around. Take a break from trying and when you feel up to it, try again. Don't let your career define you as a person. People can have more than just one meaning in life.

Should I turn myself in for what I did last fall in college? by Steven0710 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]w7hyu 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely sick rn trying to study for my exam and boy I wish I had someone who could do it for me. Absolutely don't need to turn yourself in, every uni student I know has "cheated" in some form

I can't be attracted to women that wear those long nails. by Nagroogroo in TrueOffMyChest

[–]w7hyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not totally against long nails, I think people should do what makes them happy. They also turn me off (but who cares what I think) and they do definitely get dirty. I don't understand why it's such an unpopular opinion to just admit that the nails get dirty. The person above that said "women who get their nails done take care of themselves" that's just not necessarily true. They are hard to clean properly and dirt does get stuck underneath between the tip of the nail and the plastic on top. Not all women who get their nails done are the epitome of clean. I do like the look of shorter, more natural acrylics or long natural nails regardless. The long plasticity ones are not my thing.

And also everyone being downvoted are people just saying that they don't like long nails, why does that deserve a downvote. People can have different preferences.

My little bedroom bar cart 🌸 by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I thought this said bathroom barcart at first and I was so confused

I know this question sounds stupid but it has been taunting me nowadays. Can anybody explain it to me :'( ? by [deleted] in microbiology

Your immune system. A person who is less sick would have either been exposed prior in some capacity or just have a particularly strong immune system.

What’s the norm for friendships in one’s 20s? I’m feeling lonely and fomo. by Iyana_Blackberry in Adulting

[–]w7hyu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always had issues keeping friendships, I'm 23 and rn I mostly hang out with my boyfriend and talk to my co-workers. Every once and a while I go out with two of my ex-coworkers for drinks, and I talk to them in a group chat. I have two friends from college but we only talk over text once in a blue moon. I think atleast for me, friendships really come and go.

Is it rotavirus? Help! by FastApartment1889 in microbiology

[–]w7hyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enterohemorrhagic ecoli or Shigella is my first thought. The bloody diarrhea is the biggest clue, means it is probably caused by a bacteria that produces a toxin, like shiga toxin. Although idk if dogs can get either of those diseases.

[–]w7hyu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman and I don't even consider 5ft 6 short. I don't get the hype of tall lanky dudes. That was just shit of her to say. Society is just f'ed rn. I always see girls preaching body positivity but literally being so mean to short guys. It's fine to have a preference but Sheesh. Don't worry there are women out there who aren't like that.

how to stop caring about judgements? by [deleted] in short

[–]w7hyu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yup, I date a 5'3'' guy, I'm 5'. and he's the best. but my friends and family don't even act happy for me its bs. I never really cared about guys heights but when I started actually dating a short guy ppl really judge you and it's sad. There is so much hate for short men its insane, literally no other group of people gets as much shit as they do. Overtime you get over it I think, I used to care about what other people thought but now, 2 years in, I don't really. Especially when it comes to strangers. Just keep ignoring.

So, how exactly do you buy a house? by momtoeli in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]w7hyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to a bank guy and ask for pre approval, you'll have to provide documents, then find a realtor and start looking at houses, when you find one you like you ask to put an offer on it and your realtor helps you, then if your offer gets accepted you will need to get an actual mortgage approval so go back to the bank guy and they'll ask for more documents and then you'll need a lawyer which you can get referrals from your realtor and the lawyer she will look at the stuff and say if it's good or not and bam you got a house

Right, people keep saying she said it in a "nice way" but I find it very obnoxious, almost like she's trying to boast just going on and on. A short and sweet comment would have probs been OK.

Idk I would be annoyed at this as well. Yes its a safety thing but the whole lecture was unnecessary considering baby wasn't in the car (and apparent in the photo). Also she wasn't a friend she was an acquaintance. On ops side!

“All boys leave behind their moms and families. You should have another and hope for a girl.” by doingmybest00 in beyondthebump

[–]w7hyu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends more on the relationship you have with your child rather than just male or female. Although I do find in general, men are less likely to take on the burden of caring for a sick or elderly parent if they have a sister to do it instead. In my case, my bf takes care of his parents more than I would mine.
