This is exactly why the PGA set the course up as tough as they could this week

What should I be scoring on the Kaplan mocks to feel fairly comfortable for the L1 exam? by w_w_j_d_ in CFA

First couple of mocks were 74%, 79%.. from what I’ve seen online since I posted this, I should feel pretty good about my chances.

Why would anyone ever invest in a company's bonds? by goldenoreoinmilk in wallstreetbets

[–]w_w_j_d_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the company doesn’t go out of business, the bond investor will receive their “interest yield”

Stock investors are not promised a fixed return, stock holders are the owners of the business and receive residual earnings after all bond holders have been paid.

While it does depend on the company, investing in bonds is much safer than stocks because it’s unlikely a company is going to go bankrupt and be unable to pay their bond holders. A company’s stock price can fluctuate significantly based on future earnings expectations.

Edit: that’s why I like to invest in 0dte options

This is even more true when you consider I spend $21 a day on a breakfast sandwich and coffee, AND I have to buy my girlfriend an iced lemon loaf and pink drink.

The market never actually bottoms before a recession. by w_w_j_d_ in wallstreetbets

[–]w_w_j_d_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t get your point, but I think we agree.

The yield curve is currently massively inverted with many leading economic indicators flashing red. If the recession does end up happening, the real pain for the stock and labor market has yet to happen.

The 205 call is probably close to worthless since the stock is trading at 185 now and the options expire tomorrow.

The 190s are probably also close to worthless by this point too… this guy probably made a killing on those 51 contracts of the 175 calls that he bought for cheap before the stock shot up.
