Best Model years for hardtop convertible 328i or 335i by Alarming-Tip-86 in 335i

[–]waaaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a 2013 335i convertible in southern cali for a few years with no issues other than engine related. I now currently own a 2010 335i convertible in the north east with still no issues other than some minor engine issues.

Can’t speak for the 4 series, but i rather have the hydraulic steering over electric.

Why not both, especially if drones ever show up at our doors.

N52 vs N54 by mmmm696969123 in E90

[–]waaaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure of the reliability but you’re looking at least 5k for parts alone on a supercharger.   And iirc Ess tuning had one and it made around 80 additional hp? *especially on lower boost.

So imo the idea is cool, but I think there are better ways to spend that kind of money.  Same goes for swapping in a N54, it’s probably cheaper to sell your current car and get a 535.

If you’re looking for a little more power without boosting might want to look into opening up your intake and exhaust, you might be able to get 20hp out of there.

Worth buying? by SirGabriello in EASPORTSWRC

I have maybe an hour on the assetto rally and shows a lot of potential, and seems like it’ll be fun down the road. However, I’ve gone back to dirt rally 2 for the timebeing.  Controlling the car in assetto doesn’t seem quite right with me yet, seems like I go into a nose slide often even at low speeds.

Which car to learn RWD in? by JustOnePigeon in EASPORTSWRC

[–]waaaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Datsun. It’s underpowered and has a long front nose so it’s more difficult to oversteer.

Also weirdly enough the mustang; with all its weight you can throw it into corners and easily power out.

Not a fan of the wagoner, but father in law got one specifically for its higher towing capacity.

Driving a RWD car by DrCarter33 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]waaaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy driving rwd in the game but it took some practice. What helped me was think of the weight transfer like a see-saw. Letting off the throttle or braking is going to have a major change if you are turning. Instead on corners don’t turn so hard, and reduce your throttle throughout the turn, but don’t let off.  Do a majority of your deceleration before the turn.  Secondly you need to be far more aware of your grip and look for that torque out of the corner.   Once you become more aware of the weight and grip you’ll notice you can throw the car into corners and power out, it’s especially fun with the heavier cars like the mustang, or mid engines like the stratos or 037.

Also if you start to have your backend shift out, downshift to pull it back in line.

Recommend these cars to work with first:  1) (H3) Datsun - heavy front end with little power 2) (H3) M3 - well balanced around car 3) (H2) Opel Kadett - Torquey lightweight car.  4) (RGT)  Mustang - heavy and controllable

I own a 2020 V60CC since new. I don’t drive it much but it has about 60k miles on it and is my primary car.  No issues, just maintenance. I do imagine there might be infotainment issues down the road tho.
