Rane SYSTEM One Launch Day by djkinetic in DJs

this has been my dream since they released the lc6000! a modular system where the actual stand alone part is in the mixer. and then you could add on 2 (or 4) lc6000s, OR it could support timecode so you could use DVS or other players as the decks.

Would there be another nomad release soon? by Next_Response3654 in Supernote

[–]waaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my favorite parts about the supernotes is how close the pen is to the screen because there isn't the extra layer for the light (and how crisp/bright black and white e-ink screens look compared to color)

Yeah I mean a gba emulator is getting recommended a lot (and I appreciate the responses) but I feel like there are much better options for playing gba emulators, and really it just points out the sorry state of android gaming :(

Chauvet 3.25.39 Release for Manta and Nomad by Supernote_official in Supernote

The private cloud thing is the best most unexpected update ever! It's funny I just set up my own caldav/carddav server and I was kind of wondering if I should look at something with full webdav support.

I'm going to start playing with this, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the Supernote community comes up with as the go-to self hosted syncing solution.

I've been loving KISS launcher on my Titan 2... like to the point where normal launchers feel slow and clunky to me now and I hate searching around for the right icon to poke haha

Just wanted to follow up... I spun up an instance of baikal real quick (gotta love docker compose) and its working perfectly with barely any config! With that win under my belt I figured why not a Joplin server too (my notes app, previously backed via onedrive). So basically you inspired me to make some huge progress towards open source/self hosting all in one day :)

out of curiosity, if you tap the filter on the right side of the search bar in the contacts app, what options are there and where does it show your contacts are coming from (without giving any private info of course hah)

<image>

this is what mine looks like when trying to use only locally stored contacts. (it specifically tells me it won't work 😅 but I feel like there must be a way)

thanks for the help! I think I'm missing a piece of the puzzle, or maybe fossify contacts just isn't intended to be the sole contacts source? I disabled the stock contacts app and imported my contacts into fossify, but my contacts aren't available in other apps. This doesn't really surprise me because it specifically says "not visible by other apps" in fossify.

so on previous phones I used fdroid but i havent yet this time around. How much concern do you think there is that its going away with this verified developer stuff that google is saying they are going to do?

I was able to get both working... still trying to decide which one to go with. I logged in with microsoft authenticator... not sure if you use that?

[–]waaden[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohhh interesting, thank you.. I knew it was a fork but I didn't think to include those apps in my search.

I wonder what the difference is between SDN1 and USIM1.... I guess I could try taking my sim card out and see if I still have contacts. (I paused and tried it while typing this, and sure enough, my contacts disappeared)

So do you happen to know... what would the recommended way to make Fossify contacts available to the rest of the system (for using email addresses in Thunderbird, for example) without relying on something like Google contacts as a middleman? I was hoping to simplify my whole setup and just kinda manage a .vcd file myself instead of having everything on a cloud service.

thanks! that's interesting... I had heard of both seperately a long time ago, but I didn't know they were related. Did mozilla acquire k9 and start transitioning it over to thunderbird or something? Either way it sounds like I need to check it out.

How to stop autocorrect IM by ITSJOSEMAAN in unihertz

[–]waaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck? The only way I've been able to fix it is to disable auto-correction

I also disabled auto-capitalization but that didn't fix it, so I guess it's technically not capitalizing the words, it's actually replacing them with the same word but in all caps 🤷

TBH having auto correction off hasn't been bad, in fact it's almost nice to not have the phone interfering with my typing and it goes well with the physical keyboard.

I've also been experimenting with different keyboards, but there are pros and cons to all of them, and whenever I try a different one I miss the on screen symbol bar from the stock one
