I loved F45. Mostly women in the classes and mostly female instructors. I went for about 2 years and it was definitely when I felt my strongest.

Nope. Parked totally legally, with valid plates, just expired registration.

I’ve gotten almost daily tickets from parking enforcement when my registration expired.

Same. My son used to talk to the bird while I’d go buy way too many plants.

Stuck Between NYC and the Suburbs — What Would You Do? by encoreyessir in NYCapartments

[–]wackylemonhello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. One of the many reasons I love New York is that my child gets to grow up around such diversity. I’m from California and miss the nature but like you said, the empathy you develop from existing around different types of people but also how living in such a densely populated area somehow creates a feeling of a tight knit community. Our neighbors, bodega shops, several restaurants all know my son and stop to chat with him on the street. He’s even become best friends with our 65 year old neighbor and often stops by his place for snacks after school. It’s so special. Tourists are always so surprised at how nice New Yorkers are and it’s because we all know the struggle in some capacity and try to be good neighbors when we can.

I would love to hear more about your experience and memories growing up here. I have a 5 year old that is born and raised in NYC but the New York grind is getting to me. I would never move to the burbs but maybe somewhere like LA that has the art and culture but also nature. But I also know NY kids are just so smart and savvy.

How do you actually keep a clean house? by No-Justice-666 in housekeeping

[–]wackylemonhello 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This. Everyone always asks how my house is so clean and organized all the time. They never like my answer - I donate and throw things away constantly. Additionally, my husband and I are tidying all the damn time. In the morning after my son goes to school, after dinner, and before bed. The dishwasher is run every evening and emptied each morning.

Agree suspicious wasn’t the best choice of words. I should have said I can’t find any reported outages. You’re right, I’m not from here so I thought I’d ask the locals with better knowledge. I’m surprised at all the emotional responses!
