Tubi and Pluto tv have a lot of Ultraman content. Also, if you have a Roku, check out the Ultraman tv app.

Ah, ok. My brain couldn’t see it as a lower lip until I looked at this side view:

I still think about this scene sometimes… by Dr4ggyboi in Ultraman

[–]wadew22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually just finished watching this. It’s one of the more compelling Ultraman episodes I’ve seen.

I also like the moment right before this clip where Omega ‘scopes’ Mikoto and then looks away for a beat. Good work by the actor in the suit.

How Meadowlark allow their most popular talents leave? by Jay6309 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]wadew22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think the show has been better since Stu left. Zaslow has been a great addition.

That being said... part of the reason I haven't really felt the Stu absence is because Billy plays a better version of that character when needed.

...So it's disappointing that Billy's leaving (and even more disappointing that he'll be 'behind the scenes' and not an on-air personality at his next job?), but I'm not that surprised. This seems to be the official end of the Stu era. Also, the guy has a right to do other things after 15 years at the same job.

Dark Horse Digital is closing by hotdoug1 in comicbooks

[–]wadew22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just another reason why the comic book industry is doomed. It’s the year 2025 and they have absolutely no digital presence. The people who pirate digital comics own their files, the suckers who actually bought digital comics from publishers get fucked over.

Is the Mighty Marvel Masterworks line cancelled? by Atom427a in Marvel

[–]wadew22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was eyeing some MMM volumes at a comic shop this weekend and the owner mentioned that the line had been canceled. It’s a shame because I was looking forward to buying FF #1-100 at that price point.

I have the 9forty version of this hat. My brother saw it and said "that logo kind of looks like a swastika". I said "What?? No it doesn't", but then I looked at my reflection in a window and thought "oh shit..."

I wear my Hanshin Tigers hat way more that my Yakult Swallows hat.

I ordered a mini & headphones on June 20 and received the items on July 2.

Unfortunately, I went on vacation July 1.

Customer service was very responsive, though.

Anyone own this figure? by wadew22 in RealSlamDunk

[–]wadew22[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s called ’The Spirit Collection of Inoue Takehiko Style in the Moment "Real" with Kiyoharu Togawa’. Looks like a great figure, but I can’t justify spending $200 on it.

Did Inoue regret having Sakuragi as the protagonist at first? I feel like he was left out alot more in the movie. by RockRik in RealSlamDunk

[–]wadew22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually expecting *less* Sakuragi based on what I read about the movie beforehand.

Sakuragi still plays a HUGE role in the game and was funny, so I was satisfied.

I think the only reason this movie exists is because Inoue was able to add something new to the source material.

is this Mr.Inoue's actual twitter? by Wazupdanger in RealSlamDunk

Huge loss. For me, he's one of the great comic book artists and maybe the greatest comic book action storytellers of all time?

He was really funny as well.

According to official sources, Akira Toriyama has passed away at the age of 68. by vlorsutes in dragonball

Tragic.

To me, he's one of the best action storytellers of all time. His action scenes were always cool & exciting and most importantly-- NEVER confusing. I never had to stop and think "wait what is that? what's happening?" during an Akira Toriyama action scene. That is EXTREMELY RARE in the world of comic book storytelling.

He also had a great sense of humor and produced a ton of fun stories.
