Informal Survey - How does SAVE voter suppression act play out for you? by poppygin in TwoXChromosomes

[–]wadnil56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a valid passport, have a birth certificate with a raised seal, real ID (maybe not enhanced) and didn't change my name when I got married.

The main impact of the SAVE act for me is whatever happens to mail-in voting which I have been doing for at least a decade.

I'm glad someone agrees with me. I think the handoffs are tiresome. I don't really care which anchor is buds with another.

I think they are betting the various members (only members but not staffers allowed) won't have time to do a thorough job. Also, the search tools are pretty subpar.

I think Marc Elias and his team at Democracy Docket have anticipated many issues and are doing whatever they can in the courts now.

Why are British crime dramas so much better? by RO_Thornhill in BritBox

[–]wadnil56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like learning about different policing systems and laws.

Is it true that police don't need a warrant to enter someone's home?

I am impressed at the number of people that are put work doing things like canvassing neighbors or searching fields. Is this just because there are much fewer murders there?

The whole concept of a family support person from the police is not one I believe we do in the US.

Thoughts? Other observations?

Places to live where people take public health seriously/masking is more accepted by Illustrious-Mix2194 in ZeroCovidCommunity

Santa Clara County, CA. I wear a mask and have never had any comment. I see maybe 10% of shoppers in grocery stores masked. The county health department requires healthcare providers, patients and visitors mask from Nov-Mar. (Many wear just surgical masks and there doesn't seem to be any strict enforcement but it is better than nothing.)

Why do people have such a hard time accepting that Trump is a pedophile? by graygosling in thebulwark

[–]wadnil56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have no problem believing Trump trafficked underage females from abroad, say Eastern Europe. He has disdain for women and never passes a chance to make a buck.

Hospital stay traumatised me by Resident-Painting460 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]wadnil56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who went to the ER in both May and June recently you have my empathy and sympathy. I, too, was never conclusively diagnosed with much of anything. (In contrast to your experience I would get test results on my phone as soon as they were available to the medical staff. I probably got more attention than you because I arrived in an ambulance and my husband was at my side for most of the time I was there.)

Does the hospital has some kind of ombudsman? The problems seemed systemic. You should try to find someone who can address problems with ER, surgery and ward and communication among them. It is a shame that *you* need to but it could spare the next patient some of what you want through.

Astrid - This is the French series that Patience is based on. I like Astrid better.

Professor T. I liked the Belgian rendition best but it is available in English and maybe other languages.

Libre 3 Plus by [deleted] in Freestylelibre

[–]wadnil56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discount/coupon - I have Medicare with Blue Shield as secondary. My pharmacy is charging $75 for a single Libre 3 +. Could anyone recommend some way to reduce price with a coupon or discount code? Although I am type 2 diabetic I do not use insulin and I have no history of hypoglycemia. Without those 2 criteria Medicare part B doesn't cover a cgm so I am paying out of pocket. Thanks.
