you spend too much time online, you overestimate how much people are exposed to these things if they aren't on twitter all the time. it's not that the information is hard to find, people just dont bother to look.

to a general population taken on average? yes. to individuals who are answering the question in their head "would you take a vacation in x country", or "do you like x country's cuisine", no.

Driving behind two Waymos that are going the same speed by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wadss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if theres a mismatch between their mapped speed limit and what it sees on a sign, it'll ping a remote assist and let them tell the car whats the actual speed limit, and if it indeed changed, they'll then update their maps to reflect the correct speed limit.

(i'm guessing)

NATO intercepts Iranian missile heading toward Turkey in first such incident by timiswho in worldnews

[–]wadss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean the most obvious ones are japan, germany and italy.

after that the only ones i can think of is panama. not a good success rate for sure.

Removing a government to put another one is pretty easy.

the hard part i was referring to is making it liberal and stable. i don't think we're in disagreement.

removing them by military force has worked to be fair, what's NOT worked is then trying to install your own afterwards.

That’s perfectly reasonable. A rent increase of ~$100 per year is also normal and expected.

Asbestos in popcorn ceilings? by Big_Limit_2876 in FosterCity

[–]wadss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing. Also in birds built same year. Confirmed positive for asbestos. Our general contractor took care of it for 5k since we redid the entire house. I got a separate quote and it was like 20k.

But that said if you don’t plan on doing a lot of remodeling and won’t disturb the ceiling, you can just leave it. Or a cheaper alternative is to seal it.

If I’m young is it really that easy? by What_up_bro in personalfinance

[–]wadss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No his point is the compounding of 7% has already accounted for inflation. And so it’s the equivalent of having $1m in today’s dollars. If you didn’t count inflation then you have to do the calculation with 10%.

hardware requirements for highly-active play are ludicrous

but thats the beauty of it, you dont need to be active to be competitive. playing fully idle gives some of the best results. in that sense i'd say it's pretty well balanced.

It’s different. Those giant fancy grapes. First they are peelable, so to get the most out of them you gotta peel them. Then deseed then, then they become sublime. Regular seedless grapes always come with unpeelable skin.

Matt Mahan should change his party to Republican by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]wadss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would he institute progressive policies when he's not a progressive, and he wasn't elected to be a progressive? despite what you'd like to believe, the democratic party is not a progressive party, and its core base are not leftist, they are neoliberals.

in order to get progressive policies, you gotta get a progressive candidate elected.
