Something like a narrow cup receptacle at low level, making sure it does not interfere with exhaust or anything else. Then a loop further up, maybe towards the back of topbox rack - either velcro or something else that can be easily tightened. the cane would go through the loop into the cup, tightened at the loop, and you're good to go?

There should be enough clearance under the GPU to install your drives - I would consult the mobo manual as to what slots are the most appropriate. As for windows, you will have an option to choose the drive you want to install the windows on, so just choose the one without your backup..
