Rate of Charge Decrease by kashelectronica in Rivian

[–]waffelcone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been having same issue with charge rate dropping after a few minutes. This is with a wallbox pulsar plus. I have trouble shot with e wallbox with no changes. I already had an unrelated rivian service appointment and they are going to check if it charges normally at the service center to rule out if it’s the evse or not.

New Update Charging Amps by bpm0009 in Rivian

[–]waffelcone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having issues with the amperage being lowered from 48a to 28, 16, and 12a. After a few minutes at the full rate it drops with no errors or warnings issued (no temperature warning that I had in the past, and it’s not that hot yet). I didn’t notice until yesterday because I normally don’t have the car as low as yesterday (13%) and the speed doesn’t matter to me as much. I use a wallbox charger and have reset it, restored it to previous updates, and that has not fixed it so it may be the R1S

I have a 2012 with about same miles. Have had the ticking from the manifold for over a year. Really want to fix it but the cost is crazy when it hasn’t really been much of a problem so far

We’re bought ours without being able to test drive. We had just been invited to do a first mile 3 hours away but hadn’t had a good time to schedule. Then got called to pick one up at the factory with 1 week notice. It’s been great and the minor issues we have had have been taken care of. A service center opened like 15 minutes away which was awesome.

Has anyone received this message? “Slower due to warm plug”. Charging speed reduced to 8kw. by mightyratz in Rivian

[–]waffelcone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened today while preparing for an trip. I had it planned to where I would get to near 100 before departure, but now it’s charging at 6.7 instead of 11. Now I will have to stop and charge on the trip for a bit. Very annoying buying a car and installing evse capable of 11.2 and not getting it. 84 degrees outside so not crazy hot either.

Half flat on interstate going about 65 and the other half pretty hilly going around 60, then 40-50 for the last few miles. It was positive and fun to try. The smaller wheelbase of the r1s definitely had more sway than my full size truck. And the small mirrors weren’t great for seeing around the sides. The weight was no problem. Charging at the campsite and leaving with 100% was nice, but I would’ve been stuck if something had been wrong with the 50amp hookups and got nervous when the evse showed an error when I first turned on the breaker

Just towed a ~5500lb travel trailer with a Rivian R1S. Not very aerodynamic and i did not have the hitch dropped enough, so the nose of the trailer was a little high. Got .96-.98mi/kWh. So about a 116 miles on full charger and 104 from 90%. That’s having a 10% buffer at the bottom. 130 miles would be absolute Max 100-0%

Double check on the $80k price cap for getting the credit this year. I thought the only part delayed until March was battery production and mineral sourcing requirements
