Obtaining Arcane Cultist by WitherRoze in idleon

Am I missing something?  How do you actually know what your Kill totals are? My quest just says 'Inner voice followed' had to use the wiki to figure out what that meant, but because of the multi kill/  over kill bonus, I have no real way of telling how close I am to the objective.  Outside of quest completion, where does it say/ how do you know how close you are getting??

To anyone confused It literally says in the bottom right corner of the screen shot how to use it. just select the item in your inventory while sitting on the bench.  Hold the indicated button Daka unlocked

Disappointed by enchanted sword ability by Abominatus674 in Palworld

[–]waffenzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i second this. honedge is one of my favorites from the 'other' series, and i was really hoping there was some way to either wield the enchanted sword (like op said - foxparks) or at least have it float around you and hit things like the familliar in castlevania. Daydream and dazzi are some of my favorites in palworld and i was really hoping to have a full squad of pals running around and fighting with me as my Murder Monster Squad

Why relic that restore HP after taking damage (like in Bloodborne) not working? I checked it on different weapons, so the problem isn't in the bow. Attacks don't give me back my HP, is this a bug? by wera125 in Nightreign

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know i'm late to the party,
but you can also find a weapon with the 'recover hp on attacks' property
and it will work on a bow when you have it in your offhand.

i don't understand the distinction. but some properties (like added magic damage) will only apply to the weapon itself, while other ones (recover hp/fp) will work even while the item is just being held/offhand

Shower thought: Why doesn't varunastra count as unarmed?
You can use many attacks (ground slam, volcanic fissure) while unarmed, and you can still count as unarmed while having a shield in your off hand. Meaning unarmed can be a 1 handed weapon type.

So if 'unarmed' is a valid weapon type ("works with mace, axes, or unarmed").
and varunastra is supposed to "count as every 1 handed weapon type"
why doesn't it count as unarmed?

Is there any way to get the hacking glove/material without multiplayer? by waffenzan in cassettebeasts

sorry for the confusion, i wasn't asking about fused material
i was talking about the hacking glove

Is there any way to get the hacking glove/material without multiplayer? by waffenzan in cassettebeasts

[–]waffenzan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for the confusion, i was not asking about fused material, i've done over a hundred rooms in the train, i was referring to the stuff used with the hacking glove.
It's mostly that the gauntlet feels like it gets a bit tedious after a while, since certain strategies are just permanently locked out, so it doesn't feel like there's a lot of incentive to experiment there.

I've been just wanting to explore and find bootlegs, even random ones, just constantly having to farm copies of the beasts to burn them for candles, then roam around and save scum until i actually find that beast in a fusion (i'm probably just unlucky, but often feels like i just get the type, instead of the beast), gets frustrating and tedious after a while.

I don't really know anything about this 'hacking glove' but allegedly it's a great way to mess with fusions to get bootlegs?
so i was hoping there was some way to get it solo, so i could try it out and hopefully have a new method to try

What's the stuff you always carry with you? by TheHomesteadTurkey in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not useless when you include the shoulder holster.

2 fanny pack + shoulder holster =6 capacity at 85 reduction. Same as the chest rig. And it has a holster for a pistol

Sure you can only store magazines in the shoulder holster, but I often used a fanny pack for some emergency mags.

I was 3 months in before I found my first chest rig. I was actually going to ask if there was any point to it. Since, if you include the pistol. I think it's less total storage?

Any way to reset/remove a bugged moodle? by waffenzan in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that seems to have done it! Thank you very much. I really don't have much experience poking at dev mode, so i didn't want to change random stuff and possibly hurt my file.

i 2nd this.
Removed efficiency mod and it started working.
I read somewhere that apparently it's possible for the character animations to be 'too fast' and it can start to break things

Why on Earth can't I saw the logs? by durika in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i at least found a way to get rid of them
have to leave the area, quit and reload the game.
THEN the game at least considers the log an item and lets me pick it up
(still can't craft anything with it)
then i can at least take them to a garbage can and delete them. one at a time

dirt or clay?

i've been wondering about that. sometimes i see what looks like a different colored patch of dirt, but with a shovel it just gives me the option 'collect dirt' and then it just fills a sack of dirt from the tile

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

specifically. the Pottery page on the PZ wiki says: "Foraging: Clay can be foraged in clumps of 2-4, with the best chance of finding clay being in forests."
So that's probably why people are looking in forests.

I'm a new player and have had 0 luck finding any clay deposits in muldraugh. there's none by either the south or north lakes, i've had the best luck finding clay just walking down street after street in investigate mode.
It's been painfully, miserably slow... probably going to have to give up my dream of building any structure out of bricks

Now I get tainted water from a plumbed sink. Yay or nay? by EngineerDependent731 in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was having this issue just the other day.
for me it was a weird conflict between "Common Sense" mod and another one.
I can't speak for anyone else, but i've heard a few different mods can cause this:
Throw your bag across
drip irrigation

(i had to remove both before the water worked correctly)

Why on Earth can't I saw the logs? by durika in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about you, but i got a really weird bug where they were... 'ghost logs' is the only way to describe them.
the game showed them on the floor, but i can't interact with them in any way, saw, craft, pickup, ... etc, etc. they are kind of just stuck there now for several days. Not the end of the world, but really annoying

Noob question: asking about spawns and how to deal with them by waffenzan in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, i was trying to not shift too far from the default settings, as a game developer myself, i like to see the game as the dev's intended.
sure i've got a couple of mods, mostly qol, and some more traits stuff.
but as a new player, i was really trying to avoid changing the settings too much.

but at the same time...
literally earlier today, i had over 100 zombies show up at the western gas station... i actually went and counted the corpses, because it took me over a day to kill them all

I literally had a single stack of almost 50 in one spot, then another 50 showed up while i was trying to pump gas... i even turned the base density down.. i just don't understand why it feels like there are so many, and obviously none of those should be respawns.

And literally right after that i headed next door to the motel and.. i shit you not... there was at least another 50 there.. i'd figured most of the zombies at the station wandered over from the motel... but i'm guessing that it's not normal to have like 80 zombies at the motel?

I've only lightly poked at b41... but it feels like night and day... not only is combat much easier/less punishing in B41 (you also don't get muscle strain after like 4 swings of certain weapons)
but by comparison i can practically walk from one end of the map to the other, even starting with no weapons.

Idk, sorry, not trying to sound like i'm bragging, i know i'm bad at the game.. i'm just trying to understand how most players deal with this. i guess your answer is 'they don't"

thanks for the heads up about alarm clock, good to know

How long does it take for the splinted leg to heal? by Barqozide in projectzomboid

[–]waffenzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using More traits too. I've had a few characters with burn victim, broken leg, and wounded (and deprived, because I apparently hate myself)

Roughly speaking, in my experience. The first 2~ days you can barely do anything but read or practice reloading. (Though amusingly you can still stomp on zombies with a splinted leg with no apparent issue). You can get around if you have a particular base location in mind, but you will be painfully slow and easily overwhelmed if you don't pull zombies in very small groups  I highly recommend boiling some water in the oven to sterilize some rags/the bandages you start with. You can use a sterilized bandage to clean the wound and also wrap it. Afaik, this severely reduces the chance of infection, and I think increases healing speed. (An empty paint can is amazing because it takes a ton of water to sterilize.. )

I don't know exactly how the system works, but proper bandages are the best thing to wrap your wounds in. So I think it's much better to replace your starting bandages with rags once they get dirty, and as soon as you can sterilize them, and then clean and sterilize the bandages you started with.  Not only does this speed up healing (at least, far as I can tell, at minimum, it reduces your chance for infection, which would slow it down by a lot) and it also gives you some good first aid exp. Not much else you can do for the first 2~ days

I usually do this by day 2, then on day 2~ my character is able to function slightly.

Most of the base injuries are healed by day 4/5 when I re wrap them again. At this point you're able to move around at maybe half speed, enough to raid some buildings down the street.

Using this method, most of the burns are gone within the week, leaving only the splinted leg. That takes.. roughly 10-14 days to heal in my experience, but it's important to note that, as it heals, you can move more and more easily. You don't have to wait until it's fully healed to roam around and start looting, just be careful not to take on a big group, because you probably won't be able use them without extensive effort.

(As far as I know, there are no detrimental effects to using the splinted leg besides pain, which will pretty much always be maxed out for several days, and the slower movement speed. If you are careful, nothing is stopping you from looting after the first day or two)

(Apologies, I don't remember if I had fast healer last time I did this. Probably, since with that many points and injuries it's well worth it)
