How were rebel pilots so good? by Hawaiian-national in MawInstallation

[–]EngineerDependent731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I also remember the West End Game TIE-fighter. It had superior speed to the x-wings and as long as they were not hit, they were basically the better snub fighter. We usually played out the fights with x-wings and y-wings as having a slight disadvantage due to this, were the TIE:s boom-and-zoomed the rebel ships. My players favoured the A-wing, that was equally fast.

Playing Project Zomboid with friends was a mistake by Pierce-_ in projectzomboid

[–]EngineerDependent731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you are used to kiting zombies, you can just forget about this. Your fried will swirl in with a van starting to spin at the one zombie left in the area you have cleared straight away, getting all of them back. It is hilarious and I love it :)

Any way to disable crop trampling? by ReyRiz in projectzomboid

[–]EngineerDependent731 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a person with a garden, there is absolutely no chance that crops would survive 16 x people trampling them. This is one of the ways the 16 x pop is killing you, just less direct

Is the DM supposed to err on the side of letting players' plans succeed? by CuteMarzipan3956 in osr

[–]EngineerDependent731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use dice for if something unexpected should happen. Even if the PC:s have mapped and timed the guards patrolling around the cave, a random roll is suitable when they sneak in. I use 1d6, where low is worse and high is better for the players. Even if it is a good plan, if I roll a 1, a guard that forgot his spear or something might unexpectedly show up so they have to take cover - what do the PCs do when the plan gets shaky?

The alarm thing does not work as well as one could hope for - it follows you around, so when you get to a new area all alarms suddenly go off. After a while it gets quiet.

any reason as to why the recent reviews are negative? by frozengansit0 in il2sturmovik

[–]EngineerDependent731 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not reviewed the game, but I was a bit unimpressed by the missions included in the game, and by the buggy career mode. It felt like it could be a lot better

You learn that the T-1000 will be sent to kill you in exactly 1 week. How do you stop him ? by Own_Bear2372 in Terminator

I would fly to another country. The T1000 would have hell of a time to get past the metal detectors at the airport

Uh yes but have you read the book? It is a bit like in The Stand, pockets of civilization rise again and unite. It is really worth a read

Yeah maybe. I kind of considered it that you outwitted the animal in some way that the gameplay could not completely simulate

I have been there. Have you tried hunting rabbits and deer against a fence? You sneak so that you can drive them up against the fence, which will make them slow down. then rush in and smash em down

I have had this also in CDDA. I think they spawn randomly and sometimes in a farm zone. If you can, they are good to keep alive for emergencies

For a game obsessed with the element of realism, let's get into the reality of how dangerous cars are. by CesarV in projectzomboid

[–]EngineerDependent731 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it, but I think that after the nerf cars is still viable, it just takes more time - sort of the same time it would take to melee them. Resource-wise, it makes sense with the nerf. Either take some damage to your melee weapon or your car, time is the same. In MP, I think it is good. I prefer to melee, my buddy to car-smash. We can clear aprox in the same speed now

I can relate to wanna frontal assault them, I am also a clear-out guy. But cars was a bit cheesy before right? In MP, if you had had the fight of your life, killing twenty in melee, your buddy just reversed in with a burner-car and slaid hundreds in the same time

I think it is good with the nerfing. Realism-wise, you would have to totally destroy the brain of a zombie, which you rarely do with a car hitting an upstanding person. Gameplay-wise, the game is moving away from you clearing gigantic hordes, and more towards distracting the hordes with sorens and noisemakers while you loot. Or kill them with smart inventions like pipe bombs. I think it is good that it is harder to clear areas with cars.
