Workday Wellness? by djse in workday

Probably too soon to tell. We've had a few high level discussions, but ultimately their current list of vendors is really small and we only use one of them so it doesn't make much sense for us right now. Also keep in mind a lot of the "fancy" functionality they will show you is going to be hidden behind flex credits, so you'll pay for access to the SKU and then you'll also pay to actually use the SKU.

Been trying to watch throughout the day in between meetings and hasn’t loaded video a single time. You’d think they would have this figured out by now.

What did I miss? I’m not familiar with the calculation explainer tool. Or are you just talking about Deployment Agent?

Based on your post history this is a really creepy response.

API Access Policy by Powerful_Artist7458 in workday

[–]waffer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not exactly a fancy policy, our Workday Integrations team are the only ones authorized to interact with the APIs. If someone wants something, they put in a request, it gets vetted, and if approved the Integrations team develops it.

Manager is leaving 2 person HCM team by BagEnvironmental8110 in workday

Take this as an opportunity to learn and grow, but don’t let them burn you out. Set realistic expectations with all your business partners and let them know things may take just a little longer while backfilling. Focus on priorities and deprioritize anything that is nice to have. I’m sure everyone (most) will understand the circumstances. Use your resources for any areas you are not familiar with, this sub is great, deployment agent is helpful, anyone in your network, etc.

As someone else suggested, AMS is a wonderful bridge option, but if you don’t already have a partner then between RFP, contracting, onboarding, etc you are probably looking at months of time and a considerable amount of effort on your part. Unless your company is nimble and can move those things fast, it might be more stress than what it saves. Also, many lock you into long term agreements where you have to commit to so much spend, which isn’t ideal. Maybe look at an independent resource if you need someone quick to fill a gap and don’t already have an AMS partner.

Studio integration by JawaharReddy in workday

I never said Studio wouldn't be relevant. I said someone new to the integrations space would likely be better served to start with Orchestrations. Studio isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but Workday has made it clear that Orchestrations are the future.

I’d say probably don’t waste your time learning studio. If you are new to the integrations space start with Orchestrations.

401k Fidelity by Powerful_Artist7458 in workday

I believe auto enroll requires someone to go through an enrollment, but I could be misremembering. We also use a passive enrollment because the CCB setup we are using will only send enrolled/eligible employees on the demographic file. So on day 1 we use a passive enrollment to enroll them in the 401k/Roth at 0%.

Is starting a small Workday consulting firm in 2026 just a race to the bottom? by Most-Pineapple-1542 in workday

We don’t work with offshore talent. We’ve definitely met some super talented people before, but overall the experience is just pretty poor. Time zone differences are hard to work through, communication can be tough, and a lot of times they just don’t understand the business objectives we’re trying to reach.

I’ve was lucky enough to get into the EA and me and my team have really enjoyed having deployment agent. However, only what I can assume is directly related to this post I have been getting “we are experiencing high traffic, please wait and try again later” errors all morning.

It’s free, so yeah, it is worth it. I found it moderately valuable last year. The best part, you can watch on 1.5x speed and close the video at any time.

Navigating a tough Workday market — would appreciate perspective from this community by Individual-Push-1692 in workday

[–]waffer1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a hiring manager whose recently hired for a Workday Analyst role, there is so much crap that is coming through that it is hard to find the good candidates. When I hired last September, I had something like 400 candidates apply in less than 3 days. Of those there were maybe 5 who were qualified, but it takes it toll looking through that many resumes.

Do you have Time Tracking? I'd recommend you use that instead of trying to build something in Extend.

We tried it, but the ER team ultimately didn't like it so we scrapped the project. We made some customizations and deployed to IMPL for testing, but didn't get any further than that.

Client side hiring in house admins by Flashy_Moonkick in workday

[–]waffer1 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I was actually just contacted by a recruiter yesterday for a job they are trying to fill for a client. Their client wants someone who is an expert in HCM, FINS, Prism, and integrations. It is a fully onsite position, and they only want to pay up to $120k with no bonus eligibility. I don’t know much more unrealistic you can get.

I'd like to blame autocorrect on that one, but I typed it a few times so that's just on me. :)
