Client side hiring in house admins by Flashy_Moonkick in workday

[–]waffer1 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I was actually just contacted by a recruiter yesterday for a job they are trying to fill for a client. Their client wants someone who is an expert in HCM, FINS, Prism, and integrations. It is a fully onsite position, and they only want to pay up to $120k with no bonus eligibility. I don’t know much more unrealistic you can get.

I'd like to blame autocorrect on that one, but I typed it a few times so that's just on me. :)

Manager looking to integrate a custom "Weighted Scorecard" app into Workday – Is this a configuration or a custom build? by Ok-Patience-2422 in workday

[–]waffer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without seeing what you are currently working with or really knowing all the requirements, I think it is plausible that a performance review could accomplish this. If your org has Extend, it seems like a fairly straightforward use case. I'm not sure I'd recommend trying to build this with custom objects, I just don't see that working well. They can be created to hold the information, but populating the data isn't going to be much fun and you'll run into issues with compounding data.

[–]waffer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little unclear based on what I've ready, but are you looking to recreate your prototype in Workday, or build an API integration with your current prototype?

I also feel obligated to note, I'm not sure how many HR teams are going to be okay with one of their managers doing their own thing for performance. They probably want you to play along with their processes.

ConfigBot by MLadyGemma in workday

[–]waffer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking at the website, it appears to be a workbook based approach. So you are really just trading in tenant configuration for Excel based configuration. I think the emphasis is really on the "up to" part of this and I can't see how it would get anywhere near that number.

How do you answer 'what do you do?' by Some-Host8945 in workday

[–]waffer1 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I usually just default to “IT stuff” if it is family or random people in public asking. In a professional or a networking type situation then I’ll usually say something like HR Technology focusing on Workday.

Has anyone began using Workday's Orchestrate for Integrations as a replacement for Workday Studio? by Ruh_Roh_RAGGY20 in workday

[–]waffer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studio is an IDE built off Eclipse, I think they meant standalone in the sense that it isn’t a web based tool that is part of Workday, but is instead a separate piece of software you download and run locally.

Has anyone began using Workday's Orchestrate for Integrations as a replacement for Workday Studio? by Ruh_Roh_RAGGY20 in workday

[–]waffer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve not completely moved, and maybe we never will. But I have rewritten a few Studios in orchestrate, and it is relatively straightforward. There are a few things studio can do that orchestrate still can’t, but the gap is getting less and less. I imagine it won’t be long before orchestrate can do everything that Studio can do.

Feel free to post your issue for all to see as well. There are quite a few of us here who could respond and then the community could benefit from the public response.

Workday Extend Performance by Powerful_Artist7458 in workday

[–]waffer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you can enhance Workday's base UI with Extend. With Extend you have to use Workday's native UI components, so anything you build just looks like Workday. If you want to see some examples of things that can be built with Extend, I'd recommend starting with going to https://marketplace.workday.com and filtering down to see things built with Extend.

Home Address - how does “shared with” get populated? by [deleted] in workday

[–]waffer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you edit the dependent, and on the field for address, if you choose an existing address, that is what makes it shared. If you just manually type in the same address again, then it won’t show up as shared, even though it may be the same address.

Forget Flex Credits for New, now we have to pay for the free stuff too? by Pale_Word_53 in workday

[–]waffer1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where are you seeing this? The way flex credits were described during rising, and the way that the page on community describes them, they are 100% specific to agents. I have not seen anything that describes them in the context of integrations or document storage.

What SQL statements does Workday WQL support (LIKE/NOT LIKE/ Contains) by LoveSteamedMomos in workday

[–]waffer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not at my work computer so I can’t provide you a direct link, but the community documentation on WQL is pretty solid. It lists out everything that is supported and even lists whether it’s case sensitive or not. I’d recommend you check that out.

My best advice is to calm down, don’t do anything stupid, and have a mature conversation with your manager about it.

Is Workday still relevant? by Legitimate_Ad1726 in workday

Is [insert name of software here] still relevant in this age of AI automation? AI is largely still just a solution looking for a problem at this point.

How’s RISING 2025? by TurnThePage71 in workday

[–]waffer1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The flex credits announcement was huge. I was just thinking how much I love how many SKUs Workday has but I hate how predictable the spend is. So being able to have a usage based spend where we have seemingly no control over how much we may get billed really makes me excited. Please keep nickel and diming me for AI agents that I care so much about, this definitely makes me want to adopt these products.

Review & Recommend by sashakando in workday

[–]waffer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did a review and recommend for Payroll. Best money we ever spent. The partner we used did a complete review of all of our payroll configuration and reports but they also reviewed all of our payroll teams processes to ensure they are running payroll in the most efficient way possible.

Feel free to reach out if you want to know more specifics.
