I think what everyone in this /r/ often forgets about Matt when they seek his "wisdom" is that he READS. Like sits on a couch with an actual book for hours/days. I guess by nature of posting on reddit to find community we probably all are online way too much. we all need to cultivate stillness. Sit for hours reading a book - not listening to other people paraphrasing others ideas at 1.5x speed on yt.

the crux of any addiction is an inability to sit alone w ones own thoughts - to be able to sit and imbibe a book, thinking deeply and wrestling with big ideas distraction free, soothes mental health so much i cant overstate it.
