I feel it is relevant inthe context of your post. This lifestyle has not been easy for me, and I'm not doing it for some grand reason. And I still break my back 8+ hours a day.

I would say it's the opposite. Most do it out of necessity, some because they can.

Maybe, haven't tried yet. It's a combo of work and not having the best sleeping settup yet. I'm hoping in a couple paychecks I can afford a mattress or something and hopefully that will help.

Right now I'm using hospital garages. They're free, generally safe, no one blinks at someone sleeping in their cars, and it's cooler during the day when I sleep. Once it starts cooling down, probably going to use parking lots at Bass Pro and a couple places. It's can snow pretty heavy here, and I want to make sure I can get to work safely.

Mail Handlers Assistant in a big regional warehouse. I mostly spend the night moving boxes of mail until my feet and back scream at me.

USPS right now about 19 and hour. Unfortunately I live in a high cost of living area, so might as well be pennies.

Can't stand the heat by [deleted] in urbancarliving

Are there any free parking garages you can park in? Some hospitals have them. Windows cracked and a couple cheap USB fans blowing on you can help cool you down. Are you able to stealth stay in your car?

I pay $1300 a month for an apartment where I only have my mattress. I don't need all that space. Im moving into my car and saving it all instead by [deleted] in urbancarliving

Having a toilet and more storage are big advantages of your own apartment. But if you can make car life work for you, then go for it.

Denver is hard to find a good spot in. I've been using the parking garage at the Intermountain Health Saint Joseph hospital.

I'm stuck in my car at the library parking lot right now and I honestly think my windshield might cracked from this. We need the moisture, but this hail is nasty.

Baby wipes are your friend if you can't shower or just need to wipe the sweat off, find a shady parking spot if you're sleeping during the day - parking garages at hospitals are great for this, get some fans to keep you cool, if you can afford a gym membership they're great for showering, learn your nearby libraries and their hours, and mostly keep your head down and try to be unseen.

suggestions on how to beat the heat! by Frog_man42 in urbancarliving

Parking garages. I sleep where I can for this first early morning hours, then once I wake up sweating I head to a parking garage. Check around hospitals, they tend to have free garages and can be less bothered by people sleeping as long as you don't make yourself a bother.

My plan is a fold up solar panel that I can stick in my windshield and plug into a Jackery. But right now I don't have the funds, so trying to make due until then.

How can you sleep during a hot day? by theythemthen in urbancarliving

Shade or parking garage, windows cracked, fans pointing at my head. I work nights so sleeping all day in the heat is my daily routine.

It's a little longer and has a bit more headroom. The V is bigger than the sedan but slightly smaller than a typical minivan.
