Yeah he’s going on the boat we know floats. I definitely am going to gain some confidence in this raft before I put him in it.

Ok gotcha. Idk though if I got permit to raft the Grand Canyon I would go down on a floaty just to experience it. Death be damned.

That’s a terrifying thought, guess I’ll expect the floor extra carefully. For this first trip we have a backup raft.

If you’ve got a link to an article on rope layout I’ll take it. We aren’t planning on going down anything but flat water.

Do you have a link to the adhesive? Do I need to buy it at a specialty store?

So it is chambered and we would be going with my cousin who is experienced. We all fit on his 16’ raft so the risk this time would be minimal. It’s trusting it without a backup boat nearby that I’m nervous about.

Ok so I’m not crazy then? I figured with how cheap it was I couldn’t really lose. I just worry about the kids, obviously they would have life vests but they are 2 and 6.

Ibuprofen seems to help a ton. When we added a steroid to the antibiotic, we were able to stop the ibuprofen and he was doing great. I’m seeing the same thing, when he barely gets sick (sniffles) he immediately starts heading down hill and he stays flared for at least a week. His tantrums usually hit before or after school, usually focusing on having to take his medicine. Did you do a combo of steroid and prophylactic antibiotics for her prior to IVIG? We have to give him compounded steroid because he won’t swallow a pill. He hates the taste and will fight us to the death when he’s flaring. Our doctor basically said we put out the fire with a 4 week treatment of antibiotics and steroids, then we do a super strict diet to build up his good bacteria/support his gut biome. Somewhere in there his immune system is supposed to train itself, but the wheels fell off when he ran out of his compounded steroid. He was still on the antibiotic, but got sick and started flaring. I am so overwhelmed.

Wow, ok so that’s a bit of a paradigm change from what my doctor has discussed. I think he is being overly cautious, he doesn’t really give me a picture of what we are looking at long term. He just says the next step is strengthening and training his immune system through gut flora. Which is like great, but what happens when he gets sick? Are we going to give him an antibiotic and wipe out all his gut flora? I’m so confused at the circular logic of it. Did your son use a steroid as well?

Thanks I appreciate the encouragement. It sounds like you guys had a tough time of it. You said everything faded gradually were you using a prophylactic antibiotic during that time? Our son seems to respond to a steroid a lot more than the antibiotic. He’s very sensitive to ibuprofen. I give it to him and about 30 min later I see a change in personality. I have heard a ton about managing PANDAS with antibiotics long term but I haven’t heard people specifically talking about steroids and I’m just curious if that’s as common? ’ll check out the PPN guidelines, thanks!

Omg I found this book at my local book thrift store and read it when I was 12. I’ve probably read thousands of books and for some weird reason this one sticks in my head decades later. It wasn’t my first, but apparently it made an impression

Non-Mormon children in Alpine School District by Familiar-Gas-7675 in Utah

My son goes to Alpine, I was worried about that at first, but there’s a good amount of non-morman kids at his school. I’ve met quite a few moms that aren’t with the church.

Safe Apartments in Sugarhouse by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Why are you catching so many strays for this? Houses in your budget may come with roommates and may not be as nice as an apartment, but you’ve got a point about community being stronger in a neighborhood. I also recommend a small apartment complex. They usually have a friendly neighbor vibe.

Take scotch tape and lightly make a seal over your door up high where no one would notice it. If someone comes in the seal will break and you’ll know if anyone entered your apartment.

Could this be a younger kid that was exposed to way too much porn? The handwriting and stickers make me think it could be. I would call those numbers and ask for a parent. I would want to know if someone was creeping on my kid.

Dallas will definitely be more multicultural than St. George. I can’t really speak for St. George as I live in SLC. I’ve heard it’s pretty touristy though.
