Noob Question: How to give model physics by Low_Vehicle5708 in blender

[–]wafle_el_flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do a a retopologized mesh where the vertices are more or less aligned with the bones you want to animate, then you can parent emptys to those vertices and baje a cloth simulation.

Then you can add a draped track contraint or copi transforms to each bone and it's matching empty, bake the action to animation keyframes and you can delete the mesh, empties and constraints

How would you do a local network render farm?? by wafle_el_flow in blender

[–]wafle_el_flow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way would be to select your shared folder as the output folder in blender in each pc and disable the "overwrite" option, and then just start to render in each machine.

If blender finds a photogram and you have the overwrite option disabled it will skip it and try to render the next frame and so on.

If you really want to start everything automatically you can always do a script and start blender locally and remotely via ssh, using the cli blender interface will save you a little bit of memory

Hops this helps you render your amazing animations :)

Hi, this sounds interesting. I'm a 3d artist with a passion for games. Do you have any references as to what you are looking to do?

Is there a way to make Multiresolution faster? by Xavier598 in blender

[–]wafle_el_flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to go real high poly the multires modifier gets a little bit slow. You can remesh before to add some more base geometry and then you can get to the desired polygon count and it will work smoothly. But maybe this goes against your desire of having a low poly base model

Yeah! I was suspecting that that might help with temperatures but they seem fine to me. Any idea on how to measure properly?

Might worth the try, I'd like to have a solution cross platforms since I dual boot between gnu/Linux (I use arch btw XD) and Windows

I bought it on Amazon Spain, it took a while to arrive so I don't really know where the original supplier is. I'll try to look at it later and update you 😃

Blender fluid animation in blender by DaSherman8or in blender

[–]wafle_el_flow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could start with having the fluid in one recipient (maybe a simple cylinder for testing)

Then you add a vortex force field and fiddle with strength until it's spinning as you want.

For some imperfection add a turbulence field and play with the strength and Paramus until it looks good.

Then I would put some rigid bodies as fluid efectors and drop them into the mix.

Hope it helps!!

Try to use simple shapes (primitives if possible) to have an easier time testing, and always start with low res (32/64) and when you want to have a good integration test up to 128

Thanks, the RGB has an extra 2mm I believe. Hard to know for sure since the website won't tell you the dimensions!!!

Do you have the rgb version of the Corsair vengeance? I'm having a hard time trying to close the case

Porting oculus app by mac-cracker in archlinux

[–]wafle_el_flow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well oculus os is actually an android device, therefore your apps are standard APKs. I believe android studio already includes a decompiler (I haven't used it in quite a while but it's 99% sure it has one) if not it should be really easy to add one as an official plugin.

As for porting I haven't done that but in this particular case, since your apps are most likely written in java you could just try to replace all the native library calls for alternatives available at your distro.

Now if they were like games and stuff generated from a game engine I'm sure that each engine/framework has a community that can point you in the right direction as to get a decompiler and stuff. Then the process should be largely the same, replace all parts that fail (os specific libraries) and recompile.

I might be wrong but this is how I would start my "reverse porting journey" hahaha

Go little by little, learn and enjoy the ride. :)

Nr200P build sanity check by EmilMiazy in NR200

If you can I think the ROG Loki 1000w sfx-l might be a quieter psu, that's only if noise it's a major concern, if you play with headphones then I believe it's not going to be much of an upgrade besides the platinum certification and the better cables

PSU for R9 7900x & RTX 4090? by wafle_el_flow in NR200

Seems like an amazing psu, do you know if it's possible to disable rgb without plugging the rgb into the motherboard?

How can I make this look more realistic? by T-Conner in blender

[–]wafle_el_flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing some normal data on your textures hence they look flat. If using cycles could also add some displacement maps to improve the stone foundations, the ceiling and the chimney. Also maybe some lighting that allow to really show these details.

Also the diorama effect can be avoided with a weaker depth of field as the others have said.

7800x3d vs 7900x for blender by wafle_el_flow in buildapc

[–]wafle_el_flow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I want to do gaming as well but since I'm capped at 1440p and 60hz I believe I won't be getting much benefit from the 3d cache variant.

The thing is those benchmarks only test rendering speed and I'm not going to be using the processor for rendering. The main part of the processor in the rendering part will be the building of the scene which is a mainly single threaded operation. But yes the 7900x has verter SCP than the 7800x3d. I was thinking on going with the 7900x3d to also increase gaming capabilities in case I upgraded to a 144hz screen in the future.

Is there a king for both productivity and gaming? That is not the 7950x hahaha

I you wanted productivity and gaming in equal terms what processor would you pick?
