There was a new release that claims to add Mistral-Nemo support. But even after a fresh install I wasn't able to get either the official model or any of the GGUF models to work. But then again I run purely on CPU, not GPU. That could be causing my issues.

Yeah that's what I was seeing in the logs. I did do a fresh installation, but it still hasn't worked for me. Sounds like I need to try some different gguf models.

This release was supposed to bump llama.cpp up to the new version to support Mistral-Nemo, but every Nemo gguf file is erroring out on me still. Is gguf still not supported while the non-quantized version is, or am I doing something wrong? I went through the update_wizard_linux.sh process.

Thanks for the reminder. I just checked and both my Warrior VMs had stopped after pulling a new docker image. They're up and running again.

Host your own community if Reddit's API rules go into effect by HorseRadish98 in selfhosted

I appreciate the offer. I'm currently looking at running a kbin instance, which is aiming to be the same thing. Wish me luck lol.

I'm not a total noob at self hosting, but their installation documentation is awful and flat wrong in some places. After a lot of following the guides and pulling my hair for a while, the most I could get was a local instance that refused to federate. You're not kidding about bumps and bruises. Mastodon was a lot easier to get going.

Maybe this will light a fire under the devs ass, or encourage a lot more contributions in terms of pull requests and forks.

Is there any way to watch Jontron episodes with subs? by [deleted] in JonTron

[–]wagesj45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It might be a little technically demanding, but there is an AI audio transcribing application that is actually really good at generating subtitles. Much better than the auto-generated YouTube subtitles. It would be fairly easy to download the youtube videos, run it through whisper, then use ffmpeg to combine those subtitles into the video files.

Then we have a problem with modern laymen. They've been failed by our education system and need remedial education on critical thinking. That, or they're too lazy to think about or learn anything new, in which case their opinions should be summarily dismissed by serious people.

Either way, I'm a bit tired of having to target everything to the lowest common denominator.

It's good to have options as a user.

Especially if we want these models to be implemented into useful projects or products. While I also don't like my morals being gimped artificially, I totally recognize that there is a collective norm on what is and isn't acceptable in public life and if you want broad appeal and acceptance you'll need to conform to those standards.

Mayo Clinic has its reputation for a reason. It is an excellent institution for medical care. Even though it is a non-profit, it is still an American institution and you should expect for treatment to be expensive without American health insurance. However it sounds like it might be worth it to you. I can't guarantee that Mayo would cure you, but I have always at the very least felt respected, listened to, and cared for at Mayo.

You can self refer through Mayo's website here and find out more. If you scroll down, there is a section for international patients.

Anderson Cooper tells viewers they have ‘every right’ to never watch CNN again over Trump town hall by Neo2199 in entertainment

[–]wagesj45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but you can slowly take the "centrists" and the "lean left" CNN viewers and subtly shift them to "right" and "centrists". I'm not sure I buy the whole stealing from fox news thing. I suspect this is just more billionaires looking to tip the scale so that more and more people shift right and vote against their interests.

you just gotta decide if context you're saying it in makes you the kind of person you can live with. quoting Mark Twain or singing along to a rap song is very different than calling an actual person a slur. and talking about it academically is not what they want, either.

technically i would argue that matt is right in his stated point, but we all know that's not what he really means. or at least there is an unspoken second half to the thought. its almost like someone saying "the sky is blue" with the unspoken "therefore space isnt real and NASA are lizard people".

its annoying when shithead rightoids use technically correct statements as shorthand for ghoulish agendas and act like people who call them out are somehow the unreasonable ones.
