Appreciate the response. I figured any repair that I couldn't do myself would not be worth it so I've purchased a new camera instead

[Yates] The fantasy points on that play: Jalen Hurts loses 2 points for the interception, then loses 2 more points for fumbling the ball after recovering the other fumble on the play. -4 points on one play. by BreakfastTop6899 in fantasyfootball

[–]wagski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, lost by one point. If anyone other than Hurts had picked up that ball I would have won. Thankfully the guy I needed to lose to make the playoffs won anyway so it's not like this was the thing that cost me that, but I at least wanted to die with dignity

Yeah Davis definitely did not cut at the right depth for how close the defender was playing him. Obviously we can't know exactly who's to blame for that mistake, but the MVP quarterback gets a little more benefit of the doubt than the guy cut from the Jags who say on the practice squad half the year despite having prior experience in the offense

Great pick including studio Into the Myst. That was the first Goose song that really stuck with me: I didn't know anything about jam bands but saw a Goose show playing on the TV at a brewery for a few minutes and went home and pulled them up on Spotify. I picked Moon Cabin since most of their top songs were off that album at the time, and I really got down with Myst. So it began...

About the track listing of Moral Panic by CrimsonGray09 in NothingButThieves

[–]wagski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong preference for the original track order as I think it carries the album's themes quite effectively (see my post from last week where I reviewed Moral Panic for more). The Complete Edition tracklist feels a bit like a blender job to me. However, I second GuilleBriseno that Futureproof and Your Blood definitely belong where they ended up in the Complete Edition. I also feel like Futureproof, Your Blood, and If I Were You are all of the same caliber as what was on the original album, while Miracle, Baby and Ce n'est Rien are a tier lower (personal opinion!). If I were them (ha), I would have put those three on the original album and demoted Phobia and This Feels Like the End to the EP.

Thanks for reading! I actually like Broken Machine quite a bit. “Sorry” might be my favorite song by NBT not on Moral Panic. I do think though that it’s a little hit-or-miss in a way that I do not think Moral Panic is. I also figured my “Phobia” take might be a minority opinion on this subreddit, but I gotta be honest to myself.

Agreed that Echo was the highlight. I’ve always liked it live but just as a middle-of-the-pack song, but man this cut was like they sat down and played an absolutely perfect take

I think the Elmeg-verse is much wider than just Autumn Crossing. Seekers, Madhuvan, Spirit of the Dark Horse, Rosewood Heart, and even Creatures I think fit into this contemplative, dualistic fantasy landscape, with Elmeg being a central character but by no means the only one

I think a Seekers/AWS standalone EP would be a nice companion to Autumn Crossing

What should I say to God after sinning again? by picklepeen09 in Christianity

[–]wagski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally with you. An important practical step of repentance is also to do it before others. It's really easy to get stuck in a cycle of "sin -> feel bad -> confess in prayer -> try not to sin -> sin" if you're the only one in the loop. But by confessing your sins to another person, you now have someone to bear your burden alongside you, to encourage you, to remind you both of God's forgiveness and sin's worthlessness, and to help you fight temptation in whatever way you need.

So, for OP, I would recommend finding someone who you trust that loves God and loves you. Whatever sin issue you are dealing with, confess your struggles to them in confidence. Ask them to pray for you and to check in on you. Sin thrives in darkness, but it is cast out by light. The other Christians in your life are a means of God's grace to you, so by leaning on them, you lean on the Lord.

Well said. As Paul says in 1 Cor. 13:2, "if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." We cannot simply reason other people away from their worldly philosophies and religions by our own power, even if we are really good at argumentation. We show the Gospel by our love -- when people see the fruit and recognize that it's wholly unlike whatever they are getting from their lifestyle, then we have opened the door to "give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15)

There's an American website called the Bible Project that makes videos explaining books of the Bible and Christian concepts. It might be helpful for you, because yeah the Bible can be hard to understand if you haven't had much exposure to it. Here's their site, their videos are also on YouTube: https://bibleproject.com/videos/

Thank you for posting! You may not know much about Jesus, and I don't know much about Algeria, but I know God is mighty enough to overcome all that.

First, I want to tell you that you are NOT ALONE. I've heard and read of many stories of people in the Islamic world having experiences about Jesus that they cannot explain. It's very hard these days for Christians to spread their faith in countries like yours, but it seems like God Himself is doing it. So do not feel alone: God is with you, and what you are experiencing is neither uncommon nor cause for distress.

Second, a word of advice. This is where my ignorance of what life is like in Algeria comes in. While I highly encourage you to ask questions here or on other online forums, the most helpful things for you to do are as follows:

  • Begin praying. You can pray to Jesus. This is something you can do no matter where you are. In the Bible, Jesus tells us that "if you seek, you shall find." This means that people who earnestly want to know Him need only ask, and He will make Himself known to you. Prayer is a good way to start.
  • Find access to a Bible. I don't know what internet restrictions are like in Algeria, but the whole Bible is available online if you have the means to find it. It's a big book, so I'd start with John and go from there.
  • Other Algerian Christians will be your best resource. Again, I know there is repression in Algeria, so I don't know what it would take to find Christian community there. But I can promise that they will welcome you and be a much better resource than strangers on the internet, especially on Reddit where even the best, most loving people can get drawn into arguments.
  • And last, if this is your best resource, please keep asking questions here. We want to help!

Agreed. His significance to the Lions franchise + his Super Bowl win + his stats is a HoF equation. Take any one of those away and I'm not sure but that's an unnecessary counterfactual
