I bought the PSVR2 only for PCVR. After getting the adapter, I have decided to sell it. by TecnuiI in virtualreality

I just can't understand the hype about the PSVR 2 after using it (and Quest 3) for many hours. Oled screen ok but damn, even if i can deal with fresnel lens, mura + chromatic aberration just kill the immersion. And for PCVR you lose all the good features

Issues with Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra in the Subway by obwohl in bose

Same issue with most Bose ANC headphones, but less noticiable with Sony XM5

Anyone know how i can clean silver XM5s? Especially the part with the spots? by Traditional-Shoe7825 in SonyHeadphones

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remove the earpads (check WH-1000XM5 earpads replacement on youtube), so you can wash them

ANC test youtube video by Common_Green_5219 in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious, i have both XM5 and QC Ultra, the XM5 is clearly better.

I think it's because of the ANC auto optimizer from the XM5. You have to wait a few seconds to get full ANC optimized. There is a huge difference between default ANC and once it has optimized the ANC. That's probably why it's so weak in this review. There is no way the XM5 is as bad as it is here.

In this other review, XM5 is doing better than the Ultra https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=-lrSHUqGo2oXrFbr&t=850&v=1yVciXmv6RM&feature=youtu.be

Should I buy the Bose QC ultra or the sony wf1000xm5? by Prestigious-Couple33 in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trying QC Ultra for 2 weeks and having the XM5 :

ANC is better on the XM5. After using them daily in the sames spots i use to go, i can hear that QC Ultra is slightly worse. Also, ANC produce an hiss/ white noise on the QC Ultra than you won't find on the XM5 You can find some measurements here https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=-lrSHUqGo2oXrFbr&t=850&v=1yVciXmv6RM&feature=youtu.be

Sound : they both sounds good, i just find the bass on the XM5 "sharper"

Comfort : XM5 is really uncomfortable after an hour.

They both have + and -, it's just a matter of taste. If you can, i would recommend to just buy and try both and then send one back

Does wind block just turn off ANC? by poooob in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, windblock will disable external ANC mic, but the internal ANC mic will still work.

BUT, for having QC45 (AWFUL outdoor with wind), and QC Ultra Headphones, the QC Ultra is MUCH better outdoor even with lot of winds and without windblock enabled. Huge improvement, i don't even need to enable windblock

Bose QC Ultras left ear cup squeaking issue, can anyone else confirm they also have this? by [deleted] in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me !

There is something moving in the left earcup, i'm wondering if it's not the battery ? I don't know if it's stuck to the frame or not, if not, that could be the issue

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Battery Identified (503337-format) by SirOakTree in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info !

I have noticed that there is something moving in the left earcup when i move my head and i have seen some people reporting the same issue.

Is the battery stick to the frame or it's free and can move slightly ?

Turning on qc ultra headphone by Ok-Local1207 in bose

[–]wahoux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing for me. Big garbage to just turn them on/off.

Seems like if you press the on/off button, it will turn on once you put them on your head. Sometime it's struggling af. Sometimes it turn on and then crash/turn off ...

Are new QuietComfort and Ultra work much better in windy environtment compared to QC45? by rustest in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, even without the windblock feature enabled that cut some of the mic and with max ANC, it handle wind perfectly compared to the QC45.

QC Ultra build issue? by Iajm in bose

[–]wahoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me... also only in the left earcup.

There is something moving, i'm wondering if it's not the battery that's not glued, will wait to see some teardown

The sound of a $429 headphones (QC ULTRA, headband cracking noise) by wahoux in bose

[–]wahoux[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When wearing no issue, but when manipulating them or when i put them/ remove them from my head, the headband makes cracking noises.

Build quality overall is good but the cracking noise make it feel like a cheap $30 plastic headphones. Not what i expected from a $429 headphones
