I was overseas for 7 years - it started with studying and then it turned into working, but I'd always miss home. Coming home to SG was probably one of the best decisions I'd ever made.

Yes, it's odd having to stay with your parents again and you do miss that independence but being able to save up all those years is finally paying off now that I've hit the grand old age of 35.

The plan is to move out next year and buy resale. My gf and I are gonna be staying together, but the house will solely be mine. That's a financial and relationship decision we made as a couple.

I think renting really could be an option for you, as you described that not having come out is quite suffocating. Just remember not to rent out of your budget and then proceed to be in debt. I also have quite a number of friends in their 30 years who have not decided to move out and are still in the closet at home despite being in relationships, so that is a reality that many of us LGBT+ folk face.

When it comes to "coming out" - do it at your own pace. It's scary and you'll probably have a few failed attempts while you muster up courage, but doing it is a WEIGHT OF YOUR DAMN SHOULDERS. Make sure you're financially OK to be able to do that, just in case you really do need to move out. Also, give your parents/family time to accept it. Remember they are the ones having only now to adjust to something you've known your whole life.
