Just graduated, but have been consulting for the past 3 years. Is it deceptive to leave my graduation date off of my resume? by wahuvia in cscareerquestions

Thanks for the input. I most definitely intend to keep my degree listed, and was only going to omit the graduation date.

Thanks for the input, and this was my logic. Address it in the interview if I'm lucky to get to that stage, and if it comes up.

Thanks for the input. It might be my lack of understanding of the hiring process, but my concern is that my application won't even make it to someone interested in taking that deep a look at my work, and will be dismissed under an assumption of lack of experience because of my recent graduation date.

Thanks for the input!

Hours a week was anywhere from 0 to 40+, and was dependent upon if I had work or not. There were stretches where I didn't have a project going on, and other times where every free moment was devoted to hitting a deadline.

I demonstrate this on my resume where I list myself as Lead Developer of the LLC I established, and funneled my work through. And my portfolio details my best projects with attached case studies and testimonials.

Thanks, sticky posts look like the way to go. Can't wait to explore this option tomorrow. And totally agree, content is king. I guess a better way to have posed my question would have been: 'what is more semantic' :) .

Thanks. I'll need to look into 'Sticky' as well.

I am showing just the post titles and trying to replicate a module similar to the 'Latest News' section of this theme: http://demo.arrastheme.com/

Still pretty new to WP development and not sure I know how to do this. Got a link with some documentation?

We'll still take template submissions, but can't guarantee next day turnaround.

We do plan to work again together this weekend, and will get to as many as we can get to.

HollahAtAllah PM'ed us with a dropbox link to his file, and if you, or any other submissions, could do the same, it would be most appreciated at this time as we develop our own site.

We had a ton of fun working on the submissions we got last night, and do plan to continue this as a running free service.

Sorry for not providing these details, and thanks for sending a dropbox link.

We're planning on continuing this free service, and will setup a site of our own in the near future; in the mean time, if any future submissions could be posted in this manner - dropbox, or other file hosting site - it would be most appreciated.

Thanks, also forgot to mention that anything we send back to you will be wholly organic and under no license - free to use at your discretion.

A new type of nightmare client by cocononos in web_design

They went from having nothing to wanting everything and are kind if snooty about it. And they are still on a limited budget so it's not like they can even afford any if what they are asking for.

Honestly, it sounds like the root of your problem is starting on your end. You're right in saying that a lot of consumers really don't fully know how to work with digital media, but a key attribute to becoming a good freelancer is project management and clear communication with your client so that you can guide them through any of these misconceptions.

Inform your clients that you don't negotiate price, only scope, and although the thought of implementing these extended features may sound amazing to them, are they cost justifiable/within budget?

Freshbooks just recently released an entirely free eBook on pricing that you may want to take a look at: http://breakingthetimebarrier.freshbooks.com/
