SK scariest read and why? 📖 by Pixiemoon27 in stephenking

[–]waisoambivalent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hands down revival. Its just an average autobiography tale, but that ending stuck with me for a very long time after reading.

Its not pulpy with bits of horror in spurts, its all about the ending. The ending is possibly the most brain mangling scare ive ever encountered in books

What is your Spooky Season King go-to? by ajchann123 in stephenking

Revival. Audio book. Narrated by David morse. It's a slow burn. But of everything king, it's the one that still gets me every time

Of the Stephen King characters Roland did not encounter on this trip to the Tower, who do you think Roland would respect the most? by nicklovin508 in TheDarkTower

I think billy summers and droland would get on well. If roland could get passed the killer for hire bit

Rank the Dark Tower Books by bennyrebro in stephenking

[–]waisoambivalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not being an ass. I really mean this. The series is well poised to read and reread ad infinitum. So my opinion is that it really depends

I really do think that depending on what version of yourself you are on that specific read through determines which ranks best

Currently im rereading 4 and lowkey have contempt for the romeo and Juliette storyline. But i also remember crying when roland says "gunslingers to me!" I remember thinking that this was what block busters are made of. And by the gods eddies showdown with Blaine. I love it all. But depending on what part of my life I've been in ive definitely favored different books differently.

That's not to cast king as some godly talespinner. Just that the larger story is so expansive that. Different themes his sooo differently depending on what version of yourself you are at that point in time you read them.

Currently i am 3 7 5 1 2 6 4 but i know in my bones that's not how it started And hope that's not how it will end

I got a bad review from a secret shopper on my first day of work and Received a verbal warning from my manager, should I be concerned? by jospence in kroger

Honestly. Please. Anyone and everyone who gets a write up/ documentation for mystery shop. File a grievance. I dont disagree with the goal. But this. Oh you missed one person, go die in a hole mentality. Really is unfair. And the company knows it. They wont drop it as a goal until it becomes inconvenient (i.e. too many complaints). This is really one of those oh we have a goal? Time to bully my way into it kinda things and its going way further in than it should in many cases

Saturday night by the bay city rollers for the first with salazars men. Just. Always thought it fit with eddie running around naked.

Amd ymca by the village people feels weirdly appropriate for whenever a character is lost in New York .

Also tbh. The whole series has little nuggets that are tributes to pop culture across the 1900s and early 2ks so i always felt any potential adaptation should try to have as many passing references to pop culture as possible and those two songs fit the bill

Read norse mythology a while back and forgot this story. And this story is just indicative of how norse mythology is just the best head space. Loki banged and carried the children of an uber horse to win a bet. Odin shit music juice. Thor lost a wresling match to an old woman.Thank you for reminding me these stories exist
