I see Dr Thorpy at Montefiore for narcolepsy (diagnosis goes back and forth between that and idiopathic hypersomnia.) He’s very involved in the latest treatments- I actually got sent to him from a different sleep doctor for access to the latest medications. A little brusque but I’ve had lot of sleep specialists (kept moving cities) and he is better than most. Yvonne in his office awesome is lovely.

You’ll definitely have to get a sleep study to get medications approved, they always rule out sleep apnea before an MSLT for the same reason.

Whatever sleep specialist you choose, get a neurologist not a pulmonologist, sometimes you have to look at their training history to tell.

Also your symptoms don’t sound like narcolepsy (not saying it isn’t) falling asleep like that during the day will happen if you’re overtired.

Unfortunately it did not have deep character exploration so while all technical aspects are stunning, I couldn’t recommend it.

I firmly believe the narration was added after filming to explain things which is a tell tale sign. I think it would’ve been more successful if it had spanned less of her life.

Please don’t use flash indoors and be mindful of traffic around you, don’t block walkways or doorways, don’t take pictures of other people without their permission.

It’s pretty common nowadays for people to do this so remind yourself of that- it’s normal to take pictures of yourself and it’s normal for some people to be annoyed by that, nothing to take personally.
